I got it because in the morning I usually have a kind of choked nose and sinuses which I put down to the amount of stuff you see floating about when the sun shines in the window, eg carpet fibres etc. I do feel it has helped. Felt it was worth a try at the price. Maybe the more expensive Dyson etc would be more effective for hay fever sufferers **Q: before buying this product I would like to know how long the filter lasts for, where to buy one filter replacement and how much it costs?** A: I bought 2 of these filters and they are on 24/7 I have not changed the filters yet but on checking they could do with changing now nearly a year later , I'm sure you can get replacement filters on Amazon I've also seen on here a review where a customer had cleaned them in water and let them dry fully and then carried on using them successful, I would not recommend this but it might prolong there life . ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good unit *by A***Y on 31 May 2018* Over the course of a couple of decent weeks of weather my hay fever had become unbearable.Living in a house with three dogs also adds to my problem,as they don’t do my allergies much good either, especially with them having the run of the house and sleeping in our bedroom in a night.So, after a bit of research I decided to give this fan/air purifier a go. It doesn’t cost a great deal and being a simple design (draws dirty air in/blows clean air out) and having lots of good reviews I figured that it may be a good investment...And I was right !It truly does have a whisper quiet operation when used in its lowest setting so I can leave it on all night on my bedside without disturbing me or the Mrs.It’s brilliant at keeping me cool during these warm summer evenings whilst maintaining a flow of clean air in my breathing space. I wish that I’d got one sooner.After one weeks use I decided to have a look at the filter and was surprised to see that it’s already starting to discolour with the dust that it’s drawn in. All that muck has not been getting up my nose or in my eyes.I really do love this little unitThe only 2 negatives that I can think of can either be remedied quite easily or could just be my personal preference and they are as follows...1, The blue power light on the front is quite bright and could keep some people awake.Solution. A small piece of black electrical tape or gaffer tape over the light cures this issue.2, The function buttons are at the back of the unit which (for me) makes them difficult to operate.It could be argued that they’re actually better at the back so as they are out of the way and there is less chance of pressing them accidentally.Would I buy another ? No, I would buy 2. One for the living room and one for the Mrs.One last thing.
