Another much-loved volume!
Another Beast Quest book happily read by my 8-year-old son in a single sitting. Although they're not particularly challenging books, or even great value for money when bought individually, I don't resent the money we generally spend on the Beast Quest series because they keep my son's love of reading alive and are excellent entertainment for him provided they're interspersed with novels representing other viewpoints and ideas.Series 19's Korvax the Sea Dragon, according to my son, can control water and ice, which extends to freezing parts of his own body and then melting them to escape traps if needed. There seems to be an evil dragon disturbing the slumber of these mighty dragons, a character that's appeared in some past volumes but not series 1 to 7, the ones we already own and that have been endlessly re-read. Honestly, reviews of the plot are redundant here - the main thing is that an 8-year-old completely loved it and recommends it wholeheartedly.

More dragon adventures!
This is the second book in series 19 of the Beast Quest novels, and is best read after the first book, Quarg the Stone Dragon, as the story continues from there, still based in the kingdom of Drakonia.Like all Beast Quest books, this has short, easy to read chapters with fun illustrations, vivid descriptions, and a well placed adventure plot. The dialogue is a bit stilted but I don't think the intended readers of ages 7 to 10 care too much!My nephew loves these books and gets totally involved in them. Great for reluctant readers, and well suited to either gender.

Perfect book series for 7 year olds
My 7 year old son is addicted to these books. There is literally no other series that has engaged him as much. This is book 2 in the series and as always in Beast Quest it is good to read them in order but not vitally important. Tom and Elenna battle on and the only continuity is in the minor characters and weapons Tom gets.He read it in one sitting on a Saturday! Are they good value? Maybe not because they are large print and not very challenging. That said he enjoys them so much that for me it makes it worthwhile.

Korvax the Sea Dragon
Another great Adam Blade book that has kept my son enthralled as he read it in one sitting. He started reading Beast Quest books several years ago and still really enjoys them, despite him being 12 now. I think he got hooked on this series and the characters, and just wants to continue the journey! Anything that gets children reading and enjoying books is fine with me, and Adam Blade is a master of getting children hooked. Well done, Adam.
