These are so perfect for teaching babies to read!
You know, using flashcards with babies has been given a bad rap. We have used Glenn Doman's "How to teach your Baby to Read" method and taught all of our children to read by their 2nd birthday, and flashcards were a big part of what we used to do it. People think you're drilling them, but babies actually really love it. I've always told people that reading flashcards isn't that much different than reading books, but they have the added benefit of mixing things up and focusing on a word at a time. But how can the nay-sayers object to flashcards as cute as these ones? I mean- dang. What a clever idea to take the best of the board books, with the touch-and-feel sensory experience, and put it on board-book quality cards? And then the other side is great for emerging readers too! They can read the word alone, and then the smaller-but-still-large font beneith has just the right level of new and interesting things to read mixed with repetition to give them confidence as they see familiar words. They all say "This is a XXX" and "Touch the XXX".My baby is only 5-months old and he's already fascinated with these cards. I take his little fingers and help him pet the soft fur and he's totally fascinated by them. I'm always quick with the cards, and his eyes linger on them as I put them in the discard pile. Always leave them wanting more!I'm over the moon loving these cards and will definitely be recommending them. They're just so unique! My only critique is the box they came in. It's fine as far as being cute packaging, but I wish they came in a deck-like box. It would be easier to transport them and easier to put them away, and the box could have been handy to protect the cards. As it is, I don't think I'll be keeping the box at all. I'll look at my tupperware or get something at the Dollar Tree to make it easier to put the cards away and take them with us in the diaper bag. But it's definitely not worth docking a star for that or anything. The fact that I want to keep the cards handy with us on the go is a testament to how much I love them. They're a great value at the price they're asking too. These cards are really thick- board book quality. And I've paid more money for board books than they're asking for these cards. I definitely recommend these cards. They're great as a gift too- they encourage early literacy in such a darling way it will be hard for nay-sayers of early reading to tear down reading sessions when there is a cute sensory aspect bundled in to the experience. And even if you don't believe babies can learn to read, well, there's still that sensory experience and vocabulary-boosting appeal. I just love them!

Love this set
Arrived in the original box with all eighteen cards in brand new condition. Really like the durability of these because the cardboard used is thick and not easy to bend. Each card is dual sided. One side has the main image and the word of that image printed on one of the corners, other side has the spelled out word again along with some extra info on the specific image/word (mop, dog, rug, etc). Each card is large in size and the images take up the majority of the one side which is something I like, makes it easy for kiddos to identify the pictures. All images have some sort of tactile area on them. Really like the range of textures used (soft, furry, bumpy, smooth and so on). This helps keep kiddos interested in the cards. All print is large and in black text so it's easy to read against the various colored backgrounds, may have to look a bit closer with the dark purple backgrounds but it's still readable. These have been great to use with my kiddo's AAC when it comes to finding new words and overall usage. Love everything about these from the extra sensory input, learning, cards themselves, etc.

Cute!
These cute textured flash cards are sturdy and colorful, perfect for teaching beginning readers. The back of each card has a description of the object, and tells the child to touch a specific part of it. It is a fun way to combine sensory and language development.

Straightforward
I like these because they’re straightforward. You get a card with the picture and some sort of tactile element. Some of the textures are more overt while others are more subtle (like the pot pictured). This is good because it makes a student work to find /feel the subtle differences in textures. The flashcards are colorful and the images are clear. These will be good for students with and without visual impairments.

nice simple choices
I like the simple cvc word pan mop etc. for early learners. The pictures are distinct and the tactile component makes the activity more interactive. I wish there were more cards, or an add-on set.⭐️ 1 star= Dissappointed. I don't recommend it at all, poor quality, or it does not reflect the advertising.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars = Has some reedeeming quality.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars = It's passable. Might not have bothered.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars = Mostly Satisified.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars = Entirely Satisfied. Recommend.

Engaging Cards
These cards are a wonderful resource for language development. As a speech therapist, I work with a wide range of children with various learning differences and these cards have been a huge hit in therapy with all ages. I find kids are more engaged and learn more using a multi sensory approach and these cards provide many different textures for kids to touch and feel. Not only can you work on vocabulary development with these cards, you can also target categories, describing, following directions, answering questions, compare/contrast, and many other skills. The cards are colorful and easily capture the attention of children. They are sturdy and are holding up well with daily use. I am thrilled with these cards and highly recommend!
