One of the greatest R & B singers of all time.
Growing up, I was listening to many R & B greats such as Diana Ross, Whitney Houston and Etta James. But Dionne Warwick was certainly no slouch. After leaving Sceptre Records in the late 1970's, she had her "second coming" and complete re-invention of her sound when she worked with top name, A-game producers like Barry Manilow, Barry Gibb, and even Luther Vandross. Dionne always sang with such poise and dedication, and very careful nuances. Not to mention a great collaboration with Elton John, Stevie Wonder and others on the 1987 mega-smash "That's What Friends Are For."Although Dionne is no longer in the same limelight that she once was, we've still got her great legacy of body of work to look back on: "I'll Never Love This Way Again", "Deja Vu", and "Heartbreaker" just to name a few! If you are a Dionne fan, this 5 CD collection is WELL worth every dollar spent! :)

A great way to add to your collection
If you decide to buy this, be sure to hold on to the slip cover. The songs on "Dionne" and "Friends in Love" are not in original album order. Also, "No Night So Long" includes 3 "bonus" tracks. These albums appear to be direct transfers; no re-mastering. They do not have that bright, over saturated, quality that many analog recordings get from overzealous engineers. In fact, I think they sound just like the LPs, but without the occasional "pops" and "clicks" that can come from vinyl.Actually, this is a great way of filling gaps in your Dionne Warwick collection. I'm just sorry I didn't see it before I bought "No Night So Long" from a company whose re-mastering left me sorry I bought it.

Great Music
It was really great to get these cd's in one classic package. I had all of these Albums in Vinyl. But it's really good to hear them without the scratches that come with playing them on vinyl.

Enjoyable collection of albums
Her string of albums were really enjoyable to listen to during her time with arista. And being from the vinyl record era, I like the mini mock album from the original.

Good but not classic!
These recordings are those made by Dionne Warwick after leaving Scepter records. The albums Dionne (1979) No Night So Long (1980) Friends In Love (1982) Heartbreaker (1982, notably produced by the Gibb brothers) How Many Times Can We Say Goodbye (1983 produced by Luther Vandross) cover the 'disco' period and a change from her work in the 60's. There are some good songs but there are lots of songs that give the feeling that the producers were totally in charge. Musically, the instrumental backing can sound very dated with jingly electric pianos, synthesers and drum machines and lots of heavy 4/4 beats can become quite boring. However, I repeat, there are good songs and it is worth buying. Further box set original album releases are needed to bring Dionne's vast and definitive catalogue of albums to today's listeners

Product arrived safely and in tact.
Great having ALL those ARISTA records/cds in one collection. Be nice if they had all been remastered to getoptimal sound. Dionne is one of my absolute favourite singers and very pleased I purchased this package.
