I find it to be very powerful. It is self propelled.

Yes. It comes with a small bottle of soap.

How long does it take the roller to dry after use?

I store mine in a very warm area in my mud room, so only about 30 minutes.

Can you use on carpet? Does it have the option to just vacuum?

No you can’t use it on the carpet . No option to switch. It is very crappy for the price . Mine stopped working a week after I got it . Customer support is worthless . I fought with them for almost a month and I’m still waiting for a refund .
