Works great. Easy setup. Only gave me a 100mbs cable for some reason tho.

I wanted to see if I could speed up my W-Fi & it got a good review from Consumer Reports so I bought it however I'm having trouble setting it up which should be simple. It won't connect to the internet. I've followed the instructions provided but have a constant red light for the internet. I have a Hughesnet satellite modem that works just fine with my older Netgear R6300 router but it's slow. I don't know why this Asus router won't connect to the internet which makes it useless. I tried Asus support but got automated voicemail that was no help. Perhaps someone out there reading this knows why this router apparently isn't compatible with a satellite internet modem. Consumer Reports may think this router is great but for me right now I can only give it one star.

The wifi6 on this device seems to be an issue. From what I searched, it might be an issue with a lot of other asus wifi 6 routers. I bought another brand to replace this and had no issues with the wifi 6 connecting to all my devices so the device has compatibility issues. I updated the firmware to the latest. The user interface was same as other asus. Speed test was good on the device it worked on. Also some device took a long time to initially connect to the WiFi. The value should be cheaper for all the issues it has. Asus needs some work on their WiFi 6 routers

First, my compliments to ASUS tech support team in USA, they are easy to reach and very willing to assist in trouble shooting a problem. The Router is supposed to have 2.5G speed capability, when I installed it would match my service providers speed with 1G up and 1G down but only with hard cable connection to my PC. WIFI speed was less that 130 MPS up or down. I called Asus support, after approx. 15 minutes on the phone with their tech support and them guiding me to change number of operating parameters on the router the WIFI speed improved to 750 mps U / 800 D. 2nd problem encountered is signal strength , standing next to router I can get 750/800 mps, at 20 ft distance the speeds drop by 80%, hence from router location to 20 ft best speed was 130 mps, at 25 ft it was down to 80 MPS. 2nd call to their tech support requiring more check and changes to router settings did not produce any improvement. Given lack of adequate speed at minimal distance, I had not other option than returning the product.

THIS PARTICULAR PRODUCT PERFORMS EXACTLY AS ADVERTISED AND IN TODAY'S WORLD - THAT SAYS A LOT. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR USE OF THE WORD "GAMING." I AM NOT A GAMER. I AM A WRITER. EDITOR. JOURNALIST. AND GRADUATE STUDENT. IT PERFORMS LIKE A BEAST. DON'T BELIEVE ME, THAT'S YOUR LOSS.
