I bought this box cutter for work and it works great. I use it to open boxes occasionally so I can’t say if it would be great if you use it all the time. I like that it is small and is self retracting. If you cut thicker boxes it doesn’t go all the way through. It works for my needs and would say it is a little safer than the typical steel box cutter.

This mini cutter is the perfect cutter for unboxing purchases in the media center.

Very useful

This box cutter is TINY. Not at all like the picture..probably not even 2 inches. I thought I would be able to put my u hand in it. Forget it...plus it is dangerous to slide out the teeny tiny blade. I nearly sliced my finger.

I have to use a safety cutter to slash food packaging open all day.This thing is perfect in the hand, safe to use and works as advertised.

Works great and is handy hanging on the fridge

I guess the safety of the blade is the trade off with this box cutter. I’m not impressed with it and have moved back to my old razor blade type box cutter. My biggest issue was that any sort of quality packing tape that has fiber or thread in it creates a need for so much effort to cut. To be honest it would be easier for me to pull the tape with my bare hands than use this. It’s just not for me.

The ingenious SafeX box cutter makes quick work of opening up my packages while protecting me from the inevitable laceration. Even though the blade retracts, the unique ceramic composition and special edge make it excellent at cutting boxes while somehow avoiding to cut skin. I'm sure if I tried hard enough I could cut myself with it, but I'm not about to find out. I keep this attached to my fridge with the built-in magnet, and it's super easy to reach for when needed. I can't imagine risking my hands on using scissors or a knife ever again. As a bonus, the profile of the blade also prevents it from going too far into the packaging, meaning it significantly reduces the chance of damaging whatever is inside!

This is very handy for openning all of my amazon packages. I love this little gadget.
