Blazing Fast, Future-Ready Cable Modem for Xfinity
I recently upgraded to the NETGEAR Nighthawk CM3000 DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem, and it has been an exceptional performer for my high-speed internet needs. Here's my experience:Pros:Supports Top-Tier Speeds: This modem is approved for cable plans up to 2.5Gbps, making it perfect for today’s ultra-fast internet and future-proofing for years to come. My speeds are consistently reliable, with no dips or interruptions, even during peak hours.Broad Compatibility: It works seamlessly with all major cable providers, including Xfinity, Spectrum, and Cox. Activation with Xfinity was a breeze, taking only a few minutes to get up and running.DOCSIS 3.1 Technology: The mid/high-split support ensures better upstream and downstream capabilities, making it ideal for heavy internet users like gamers, streamers, and remote workers.Compact Design: The sleek, vertical design saves space and blends well with my other networking equipment.Cons:No Built-In Wi-Fi: This modem doesn’t include Wi-Fi capabilities, so you’ll need a separate router for wireless connections. For me, this wasn’t an issue since I paired it with some other routersPrice: It’s a bit pricey compared to some other modems, but the performance and future-proofing make it worth the investment.

Works great with XFinity Internet
It works preety seamlessly with XFinity Internet. While it's rated for up to 2 Gbps, XFinity only rates it for up to 1.2 Gbps on their service (though that may just be them trying to get you to rent their garbage hardware). It has a 2.5 GbE port (which is backwards compatible with a standard 1 GbE Ethernet port on the other end) as well as 2 separate regular 1GbE port that can be turned on for LAGG (requires a device on the other end that understands and is configured for LAGG also) so you can do dual channel if you don't have a 2.5GbE port on the device at the other end (or a 10GbE port and Cat 8 Ethernet cable if you have hardcore network setup). You do have to manually enable the LAGG ports in the settings, otherwise they act like regular individual ports (multiple ports on a modem cannot have multiple client devices connected).Speed on a 1GbE connection is excellent without any overheating or hiccups. It runs extremely stable too, it hasn't had to be reset at all in the > 1 month I've been using it.

Easy set up, plug and play. Very fast speeds.
Great product, set up was plug and play. I have Xfinity and all I had to do was go on the Xfinity app and activate the modem. I have a 2.1 gig internet plan, ran a speed test and got over 2100 Mbps.

Great performance and value
Another great Netgear product. I purchased the CM3000 as an upgrade and it has performed flawlessly. Setup was a snap thanks to the included setup guide. Great performance and a great value. Another great Netgear product.

Perfect…Well Almost
This modem truly gives the most out of those with top tier internet service from carriers like Xfinity. I previously had the Netgear CM2000 that has a 2.5GB ethernet port that provided an average of 2.46Gbps down and 45Mbps up. But this CM3000 provides the same down, yet 370Mbps up with room to grow to 1Gbps up. This increase up speed is great for homes where a few people work remotely using Teams or Zoom. The ‘Almost’ is if a cable company decides to provide anything greater than 2.5gbps, the CM3000 will be limited to 2.5Gbps because of its hardware based ethernet port.

Netgear's tech support is the worst.
My recent experience with this Netgear CM2500 has been terrible. I bought this model to replace my CM600, which had no problem for 6 years, but I upgraded my ISP's plan to 1000 MBPS, which CM600 does not support. The product I received is defective and the internet speed will drop from 900+ MBPS to 1-3 MBPS for no obvious reason. Once it drops, I unplug and replug the power cord, the problem goes away. I have been communicating with Netgear customer support for the past 2 months and could not get a replacement. There were several technicians asking me to do the unplug and replug power cycle. I told them the problem will go away immediately, but will come back the next day. Then they keep me checking different settings. After they could not fix the problem. Netgear switch to a different technician and start over again. Now, they say it is Xfinity's problem again. I had Xfinity come and already checked. I had no issue for the past 12 years for the same ISP with no issue. I am sick after 20+ hours with Netgear tech support for the same problem. For my experience, if the Netgear product is non-defective, it works for many years. If the product is defective, Netgear's support is like hell.

CM3000 - Great performance
The cable modem installed easily and was provisioned by my cable provider (Cox) with no issues and clean diagnostics. Download and upload speeds were increased to the max of my Internet service plan (I pay for 500 max download and speed test was showing close to 600 with the CM3000). This replaces a very old Arris SB6183 DOCSIS 3.0 modem. The only issue I had was the admin password for the device UI stopped working (no idea why), but following a call to Netgear tech support I was able to correct this with a hard reset. The modem has been installed and operating with zero problems for six days now. Excellent product in my opinion.

Elegant and Fasr
The CM300 NETGEAR router was easy to set up, is stylish as routers go, and provides fast internet. I paired this router with TP-Link AX3000 WiFi 6 Router (Archer AX55 Pro) and they work great together. I’m only paying for about 500mbps download annd 50mbps upload internet, but reliably getting about 750mbps with an upload speed around 100mbps. The router runs quiet with its internal fan.
