I like that I am getting a 90 day supply of tablets and that it is simply Magnesium Glycinate, not a mixture or complex of other nutrients. I can swallow these tablets OK, but they don't go down as easily as the capsules I use. I have not noticed any aftertaste or strange smells. Although I have used these for about 1 week and not noticed much change, my main concern is that the DV at 13% is less than what I normally use and that may be an issue for me over the long term. Your doctor can help you find the right daily dose you need.

I ordered these without a lot of thought and now I am regretting the order. I have never seen a magnesium supplement in a tablet form. These are really difficult to swallow. I literally have to choke down these tablets. I do not know what stomach acid does to the magnesium in the tablets - will it be absorbed by the bloodstream ok? I just don't know! I usually take supplements which are sold at a medical office - meaning that they are higher quality and the companies who manufacture the supplements have confirmed quality assurance standards. I wanted to feel good about this brand, so I went on a google search for Safecastle (the name on the back of the label) and found a very strange eclectic sort of emergency items being sold. This supplement was not listed for sale nor were any other supplements on their website so I was not able to look up confirmation of the quality. I found this particularly concerning. After reviewing the label, I realized that this company is purchasing these tablets from a manufacturer and private labeling them, as the label states... "Manufactured for.." . I am fine with this but would like a way to trace the quality of the manufacturing process (I like to know what I am putting in my body is exactly what is being sold).

For example, 400mg magnesium glycinate has 56.4mg elemental magnesium. The US recommended Daily Values (DV) are stated in mg of elemental magnesium. So this way you can compare the true numbers. If you are switching magnesium supplements, compare labels carefully or consult your medical professional. Magnesium glycinate is supposed to have a higher bioavailability than other kinds of magnesium supplements. The listing said this supplement is manufactured in the United States. The bottle came with a plastic seal around the lid, and a styrofoam/foil seal on the top of the bottle. There are 180 half-inch tablets, which would be 90 days at the recommended serving size of 2 tables/day. A lot number and a 'best by date', late in 2026, are on the bottom of the bottle. I cannot draw conclusions about the efficacy of any supplement as a mere reviewer, but this looks like the real deal, to provide the benefits of supplemental magnesium.
