would it work on a cylinder head? much as used for racing?

There is no single answer. The use of this sealant depends on the type of gasket you are working with. If you have solid copper gasket or a metal clad composite (say... copper foil skin sandwiching a fiber core) then yes it would work on those gaskets. If you have a composite fiber gasket with fire rings and no coating then again... it would work. If your gasket is of fiber construction and has a shiny coating on it that looks like varnish... don't use this spray without referring to the literature supplied with the gasket. Many modern gaskets come with a pre-applied sealant coating so you don't want to add additional (and possibly incompatible) sealant spray. Sorry, but as I said, it really depends on the type of gasket you are working with.

will this coating make the head harder to remove if necessary?

Actually, I used it and had to remove my head gasket six months after, not because of this stuff though. The gasket came off no problem. I don’t know if this stuff really does anything though. As long as your head and block are surfaced properly, you shouldn’t need it.

Can this be used on felpro gaskets for timing covers, thermostats, water pumps and so on?

I used it on head Gaskets and worked well so I don't see why not its a really tacky solution help hold gasket in place and seal

Can this be used on a gasket that sits between an aluminum head and aluminum engine block? Possible corrosion?

Does the job perfectly!

Makes life so much easier with this. I used it to cover the clutch cover on a Bonneville T100 after replacing the clutch springs. Creates a nice seal with no oil leaks. Make sure both surfaces are free from old gaskets and debris.

Copper thermal spray gasket

I used it on a three layer used metal head gasket as I needed to finish up quickly. A brand new head gasket was not only expensive but was not available in the time I needed to finish the rebuild. It worked fantastically and is still holding tight with no issues.
