DH Hand Made Wool Top Hat Satin Lined Small to XXL

First one arrived with a blemish. It looked like a splash of glue on the front, almost certainly a manufacturing error rather than a "previous return" or "damage in transit". It was refunded promptly and I bought another which arrived quickly and was perfect. The product is well packaged and reasonably safe from damage. It is way better than fancy dress or novelty quality. Of course it is not of the same quality as if you paid a 3 figure sum at a proper gentleman's hat shop, but for the price, it is very good indeed. It has a quality feel, is nicely lined, and is certainly good enough for attending a wedding or similar event. I measured my head with a tape and chose the correct size according to the guide. The one that arrived fitted pretty well. For my head shape, it was a little bit wide, easily dealt with by adding a tiny bit of padding between the leather inner band and the inside of the hat. No sewing or stitching required, I just slipped in a bit of folded paper. The result was a hat that looks good, feels comfortable, and is perfectly suited to my needs. The small feather trim is not the same colours on all. My first (faulty) one had red and green, ideal for my Morris side's kit colours. The second one was a different combination, but that is not a criticism, just a comment. Very pleased with my purchase. 30 or 40 years ago, the choice was searching second hand and junk shops or paying silly money. Now I can get a decent one delivered within 48 hours for the cost of a meal out for two. How the world has changed!

I had not a hat when I rode into London for the ball. I'd assured my own self that "hats will be worn only by Londoners, and in any case they should be scarcely used, as the ball is indoors." I knocked on the door of the venue, a handsome house with sufficient rooms for guests to house in for a few nights, when need be (one and twenty guestrooms I do believe.) The host of the event showed me in (a jolly aquaintance of mine, named William Burt Maxwell.) he brought me to where I should hang my hat... (I had none) ...and my cloak (I had one of these). I entered the hall and at once recognized faces. Among the greetings and dancing, I managed to help myself to some quite fine wine wich I thoroughly enjoyed. The event was quite pleasing. When the evening was late, and the hall was getting unconfortably warm, we decided we'd take a walk. Only after having agreed profusely did I realize my mistake... my heart sank. when we entered the cloak room, my heart sank even more... everyone was putting on, or wearing a hat. I alone, did not own one. Never had I felt so publicly out of place before. I was dismayed. But to my great relief, Mr. Maxwell (seeing my deep regret) was good enough to lend me one of his. Nice color (I opted for black), and nice meterial. only complaint is that the hat I received is not the same as the hat on the pictures provided, as the lining/inside of the hat is a diferant colour, and it has a feather... not to worry, i like it just fine! And the feather is attached with a pin anyway, so it can be removed (you also then get to use the pin for other purposes that might require one XD)

When this arrived I was so impressed, this is a real high quality item and well made and great value for money. But Dropped one star because there is no size chart on this product, so I googled hat sizes and fund what S/M/L are in CM's and ordered what I thought was right. Turns out it's too big, so I will pad it for the day I need it. But a size chart would be an excellent addition to this product, if not, I woukd order one size smaller that you think, based on this experiance.

This was a birthday gift for my son (odd choice). They answered my questions quickly, it arrived in two days, safely packed. It is very sturdy and fits well - following their measurement system. It looks great on and more expensive than it is. My son loved the little feather at the side, so I am very happy with the purchase. Recommended.

I don’t often leave reviews but I had to in this instance. I wasn’t expecting much for the price but I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best when I made the order. It arrived very promptly and is such good quality. I’d happy wear it to a wedding or some other posh event (I’m just using it to dress up as a ringmaster!). If you’re looking for a top hat I highly recommend this one!

I bought this for a possible wedding outfit and I have to admit I wasn't expecting much. However, in happy to say that it's extremely well made in felt, satin lining with a leather inside head band. For me, the fit isn't great out of the box but that's because I have an odd shaped head which is longer from front to back, rather than circular. That seems to be a relativly common thing and not a fault of the hat; reshaping can be done using steam as others have noted and as I found out after a quick Google. Once that's done I shall have a well fitted and stylish hat that will look fantastic. Well pleased

Buy the hat, just beware the sizing, as other buyers have said The sizes on the hats, and indeed the hat you get seem very variable. There is no "hat box" so boxed is the Amazon box it comes in. Of the 4, all 4 have different labels and different sizes. Sellers will charge you £6 to return the item, even if it's their mistake in the sizing. To give you an idea of this, I have two large hats which are different sizes! However despite them supposed to be being, 58-59 and the medium a 56-57, the large is too big on one, whilst the medium sits on top of the head! Shame, as the hats IF they fit, are not bad for the money.
