Review: Ascencia has been around awhile - Replaces 2004 version of this device. There are several significant operating changes due to HIV and COVID 19. Sample drawing is less painful due to pin prick vs lancet injury. The meter is vastly more competent in that it has vastly more options to personalize and store the test results. Bluetooth and smart device connectivity, and the app provide more useable information to me. The learning curve was moderate, and took two hours to master. The test results are consistent with my older device. It is very affordable. I am pre diabetic and am making lifestyle changes to avoid CKD and type 2 diabetes.
