TCL 55” QLED 4K TV is hands down the best bang for the buck
This TCL 55” QLED 4K TV is hands down the best bang for the buck if you’re shopping for a new television and don’t want to overpay just for a brand name like Sony or Samsung. The picture quality is excellent — very sharp, vibrant colors, and plenty bright. It is a bright TV, but that’s actually a plus because it includes a blue light filter, which is something you don’t see often and makes a big difference if you watch TV at night. It’s much easier on the eyes and helps reduce eye strain, which I really appreciate. One of the most underrated features is that TCL offers its own built-in free content: • Free live TV • Movies • Shows • Channels you can watch at no cost On top of that, once you add apps like Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, etc., you honestly don’t feel like you’re missing anything. The smart interface is smooth, responsive, and easy to use. I bought this TV as a gift for my mom, and she’s been happy with it ever since. It does everything she needs without any complicated setup, and the picture quality alone makes it feel like a much more expensive TV. For the price, it’s hard to justify spending hundreds more on a “name-brand” TV when this does everything you could possibly want: • Great picture • Smart features • Free built-in content • Eye-friendly options • Competitive pricing If you’re on the fence and debating what TV to buy, do yourself a favor and just get this TCL. You won’t have to worry about buying another TV for years, and you’ll save a lot of money in the process. Highly recommended.

98” version review
I bought the 98” version because why not? The price was low considering the size of the tv. Picture quality is great, as long as you are not sitting close to the television. If you sit too close, you can see the individual pixels. Also very heavy, you’ll need a heavy duty mount for the wall. Tv is great, and I’ve had it about a year now, and we have had no issues.

Decent budget QLED
The picture is really decent for a *non local dimming QLED HDTV. Using a Hisense 2.1 soundbar so can't say anything about speakers, yet some say there fine. If your moving up from dirt cheap tv the sound on this may be okay for you. If buying a sound bar get the 2.1 for better bass. I dislike the google interface due to not being familiar with it. I have Amazon app, with several add on features up and running. Also the TCL channels, you tube, antenna local channels and live channels as well as Stars and NETFLIX, what else is needed. Without Google set up I have no voice commands. My 4K DVD Blue Ray player showed up with no problems. Some have (few) complained that they couldn't get their DVD to show up. I figure one day I will get it (Google) set up as soon as someone who is teckie stops by. Picture on this flatscreen is really very good with brilliant color, black n whites. Picture adjusts itself thru the AIPQ processor, not much else to adjust, as it dose this for you 1st 24 hours of use. Price was great at $150 off or $248 for the 50 inch. My AMAZON Fire 50 inch, QLED died after 18 months, so buying a TV was not in my budget at this time and that is how I ended up with this unit, the cost. This TCL is a good price friendly budget QLED TV and well worth the price. Bought the insurance plan for 3 years. Seems now days HDMI TV'S are a throw away item? Only negative I have on this is Google and that may be a deal breaker for some buyers. I am just to use to Fire. Even without Google set up I have so many channels, movies, live tv that I am in no hurry to set it up. (purchased Jan 30 updated March14th 25 uped to 5 Stars)***Pro's (6) *QLED, *Excellent color, *Great black n whites, *Pre loaded App's, *Available channels *Low Price. ***Update JUNE 29th 2025, I set Google up and it was easy. Just need a Google email address and your cell phone #. Now able to add other apps like Tubi, Plex and more. Now my voice remote works.

AMAZING TV!!!
I had been shopping for a new TV for several months, I had a long wishlist but my TV was still working okay - So I kept trying to save more money to get EVERYTHING on my list (I mean who doesn’t want everything on their list, right?).. Well then one day my TV just wouldn’t turn on again! UGGH then I was forced into a corner BEFORE I was actually ready to buy - But it was shortly before a holiday so I knew there would be sales coming up! After scouring the sales and comparing everything I settled on this Model. This TV is a QLED with upscaling. Its a 4K TV with DOLBY ATMOS & other DOLBY formats as well as the other HDR Pro etc. It also has the ability to change the screen formatting for Cinematic experience or other screen viewing settings! You can choose various Audio formats as well from voice heavy to cinematic. The picture quality is AMAZING! It os so clear & crisp and from every angle! Gone are the days of having to be directly in front of the TV to habe a good viewing experience!! It is a GOOGLE TV which I have never had before, but I don’t mind it.. it guides you through the setup - AND I use Firesticks anyway - So it doesn’t matter much! I DO HOWEVER love the LIVE TV function better on the native TV than the Firestick so I use that regularly. Also the TV does have the ability to download & run all of your favorite apps like Hulu, Netflix , Prime, Max, Disney+, etc — I just didn’t because I was already signed in to them all on the Stick so it was just plug and play! This TV is a FANTASTIC VALUE for the Money paid! I am extremely HAPPY with this TV and even HAPPIER with how much $$$ I saved by buying this vs the others that I was looking 👀 at! My previous TV was also a TCL and I was very happy with it, until it just died & wouldn’t turn back on! I am a HUGE FAN of the TCL BRAND! You WONT REGRET THIS PURCHASE!

Gaming, Streaming, Performance 10/10
TLDR: This replaced the projector I've been using, and I couldn't be happier with my choice here (98 inch). Gaming, game streaming is excellent. Movies. 10/10. Apps I use that work amazing on this: Stremio (sailing the high seas in 4k) Moonlight (streaming your games from your PC to your TV, highly recommend) I had been debating finding a new TV, I've just been using a projector for a few years now and I've gotten tired of not being able really use it during the day or even play games at all on it. I was super worried about it showing up and it being broken, but it wasn't an issue at all. Getting it into my house though.. Definitely measure the entryway first. 😅 I barely made it, and that was forcing it through my stairway. Risky business. It all worked out though. It's really 'snappy', no delays or lag with input. Picture is perfect. Its absolutely massive and definitely a surprise for anyone that walks in. Gaming, movies and everything else looks fantastic. Performance was a big surprise. I'm running the android TV Moonlight client on it to stream games from my desktop to this TV, and WOW! Blew my expectations out of the water. No perceptible input lag with my controller hooked directly to the TV, graphics and stream are PERFECT and I'm going over wifi instead of wired in internet. No tearing, skipped frames, nothing. (I do have a high-end desktop, and very high end networking through the house though, so results may vary). Why does it matter? Because android/google TVs have been notorious for being very bad at running this app, but this one handles it like a champ. 10/10 would recommend for the gamers. I'm not an expert on color accuracy and everything, but it all looks fantastic. The sound is fantastic. Graphics definitely rival (and surpass) my gaming monitor. I did notice some black screens for a bit when I play on my xbox, but that was a settings issue. Pay attention to the inputs, and what each one supports for speed/quality. And adjust any settings on devices to stay in line. Make sure your cables support the quality you're going for.

Update: Can only use WiFi SSID on either 2.4ghz or 5ghz, not on both
Updated: It turns out that this TV has old, inadequate WiFi support that does not work well with modern WiFi systems that present the same SSID on both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands at the same time (thus letting the client chose which band to lock on to.) To get reliable WiFi with this TV I had to change our WiFi settings to create a new "IoT" SSID on either the 2.4 or 5ghz bands (but *not* both) and then update the TV settings to use that new SSID. (I put mine on the 5ghz band.) Fortunately my Netgear Orbi system was able to create that new, additional SSID and lock it to exactly one of the frequency bands (2.4 or 5ghz). Before getting this TV one should check that their WiFi hardware is able to do this. When doing this you probably will need to restart the TV multiple times. Neither Amazon nor TCL support was much help figuring this out. Original: We will probably return this - WiFi is unreliable (only way to use is via a Roku plugged in to HDMI) We just got this new TV, TCL 65-Inch Q65 QLED 4K UHD Smart TV with Google TV (65Q651G, 2024 Model) and set it up yesterday. Some points: First: This unit does not reliably connect to WiFi. It can see our networks, it can connect (sometimes) after a power reset, but often not. It looses the connection until the unit is power cycled and a fresh attempt made. Our prior TV had no problem. The Roku that we have to use in order to use this TV connects to WiFi with total reliability. We have excellent WiFi here (NetGear Orbi system) and no other device of any kind has any difficulty with our WiFi. We are networking technologists, we are unlikely to have made any errors in the setup of the SSID or the access pass phrase - it is just that sometimes the WiFi works on this TV (for a while) and often it does not work. All other WiFi devices, including the Roku sitting right next to it, work fine while this TV struggles and fails. This turns this unit, from our point of view into nothing but a dumb screen that we can use only via a Roku (that has no trouble with WiFi) plugged into one of the HDMI ports. We did a software upgrade so we are running the latest release. Basically this is unacceptable and if we can not resolve this we will simply have to return this TV for a refund Second: The off-angle viewing range is rather limited. Off center viewing that was OK with our prior (Samsung) is blury with this unit. Third: Google TV seems to be a repacking of YouTube with apps. It can be rather difficult to find content that is not part of the Google ecosystem. We actually prefer to use this unit via our tried and true Roku (which has no WiFi problems) via an HDMI connection. Google TV seems designed by and for children. Fourth: Some of the controls are hard to find - like turning off Soap Opera mode can take a bit of digging. (In its default mode, old B&W movies looked awful.)

Great purchase.
I’ve had a few TVs over the 75 inch mark but they’ve all had one issue the sound quality was always lacking. This tv gets a big thumbs up for picture quality and sound reproduction. I’ve only had it for a few months so far so I can’t contest to its longevity yet….. to be continued.
