it did take a long run of water to clear the cloudiness of the new filter and make sure to turn water off to filter to release the pressure.

Great someone would consider pricey
I’ve used these filters for over four years and really think they do a quality job. The only complaint I have is that they only last six months; I wish they lasted a little longer. This is for two people in a household, for reference. It’s very easy to change the filter. My suggestion is to shut off the water first, then change the filter. Turn the water back on and reset as usual. It takes almost five minutes of water use, which I feel is an excessive amount of time to clear out a filter, but what can you do?
