Better than Digital thermometer

I purchased this thermometer for my son to use at university. It turned out to be a complete nightmare and a potentially dangerous product. For over a week, this thermometer consistently showed my son's temperature as 38°C (100.4°F), indicating a fever. He felt perfectly fine, but trusting the reading, he started taking fever-reducing medicine daily. As the "fever" persisted, we grew suspicious. We decided to buy a new thermometer from a different brand. To our shock and anger, we conducted a simultaneous test: the new thermometer showed a normal temperature of 36.8°C (98.2°F), while this old one still falsely read 38°C. We finally confirmed that this thermometer is completely inaccurate. It caused us unnecessary worry and led my son to take medication for over a week for a fever he never had! This is utterly unacceptable and could be a serious health risk for others. I am writing this review to warn other consumers. DO NOT BUY THIS THERMOMETER. It is unreliable and dangerous. Save your money and, more importantly, protect your health by choosing a different, trustworthy brand.

Work very good

I so rarely used my electronic oral temperature gauges that the battery was dead when I needed it most. Bought the kind my mom used decades ago and it worked like a charm. Easy to read in Fahrenheit and Celsius

This item is too big to fit under your tongue. So you can not get an accurate reading. I bought two hoping to put one in my travel bag but, it’s useless. So now I’m stuck with one that hasn’t even been opened.

Wish they made thermometers as thin and inexpensive as they used to be. This works well, easy to read. Seems like it will be durable - my old one was the old kind and broke when it fell on my tile bathroom floor. Only downside is that it's about as thick as my finger - harder to keep your mouth shut around it!

Whether you put this in your mouth or under your armpit I feel this has got to be better than any of those digital thermometer. I wish I had looked for one sooner because I bought severl of the others and never had any luck. Therefore while these tend to sit around the house if you keep it in the medicine cabinet at least you know that its in a safe place or quite honestly you know your going to get a reading within a couple minutes which will be reliable and accurate. You just have to shake before each use so as to get the proper tools. Something tells me my grandmothers knew the coming of age with computers and such are only as good as the people that use them and so so correctly. You need to disinfect after each use but because it is. Glass I don’t like to handle with my shaky finger. I am very happy with this item and will get another when or if it needs replacing.

This thermometer was terrible. I was trying to get an oral one without batteries like we had years ago. Since the description says “glass oral temperature “ I assumed that was what I was getting. However the oval shape of it does not allow it to stay in your mouth. Maybe you are supposed to put it under your arm? In addition it is almost impossible to read the numbers that are supposed to indicate your temperature. It came with no instructions. And for further aggravation while being sick with unknown temperature, Amazon won’t let me return it or give me a credit.
