It’s a pure form of water made by distillation. Deionized water has a current passed through it to to drop salts such as permenant hardness out however this won’t remove any residual organic compounds out. It’s about the purest form I am going to buy at a sensible price. If you are buying for an iron, deionized should be good enough but don’t use tap water particularly in hard water areas as your iron will collect all the salts in it from the Calcium , magnesium and zinc salts. Any one who collects vinyl records is afflicted anyway so buying a very pure form of water seems the best and most scientific thing to do as you won’t be adding anything to the cleaning solution that will deposit it’s self on the record. It’s the same argument for any solution you are making up up or application. The only thing you need to ask is do I need a very pure form of water or will deionized do but just be aware that tap water has a lot more in it than people think. The product was very well wrapped as it turned up in a glass bottle and I think it should arrive in one piece.
