After doing research, it was clear that Shearwater computers are top notch and so many people praise the customer service. When they came out with the Peregrine TX, that sealed the deal for me because I wanted the air integration, I won't dive with anything that doesn't have it, its sooo nice knowing how much time you have given your air consumption. I also really liked the large screen over the watch version. Being in my 50s anything that makes it easier to see is a big plus. I also have many watches (that I never wear) and didn't want another one, especially one that I had to interact with to see the time vs just looking at my wrist. Anyway, I got a chance to finally use the Peregrine TX in St Lucia. It was very easy to read, I LOVED that it started counting down my safety stop and included seconds (the Cobra would just say 3, 2, 1 and I had no idea the second count this was something I didn't know I was missing). Buttons are very easy to press, navigation is simple (my Cobra I sometimes had to reference the manual, won't ever have to do that with the Peregrine TX). I'm also looking forward to night dives because I won't have to hold down a button every time I want the light to come on. Long battery life, easy to charge, etc. I can't think of anything I don't like. HIGHLY recommend. I live in CO and maybe get to go diving once a year when my wife and I are someplace tropical (she doesn't dive). I was a bit worried about spending serious money for something I don't do that often but I'm glad I did.
