## Questions & Answers

**Q: After a picture has been hung for awhile (say 1-2 years), is there further damage to the wall? Does the original hole get larger?**
A: I'm sure it depends on the condition of the wall and what you're hanging on that wall (depends). My experience is that my large living room pictures have had no damage but what I hung in the bathroom (2 way mirror) seems to have gotten worse over the last couple of years.

**Q: Do they work on plaster and lathe walls, or only on drywall/sheetrock?**
A: I tried on a lathe and plaster wall, but it seemed like the far end of the hook was hitting the other side of the wall and it wouldn’t go in all the way.

**Q: I am unclear how much weight each of these three hooks will support.  Please clarify?**
A: The "Original Monkey Hook" has the following specs:

"Installs into drywall by hand in seconds. For most items, up to 35lbs on residential (1/2”) drywall, or 50lbs on Commercial (5/8”) drywall."

With the Gorilla Hook claiming a 40% more weight bearing capacity, I would assume that means it's 49lbs on a 1/2" drywall and 70lbs on the 5/8" drywall.

**Q: Do these work to hang drapes in place of drywall screw and anchors?**
A: No.  They will hold something that only applies downward force, such as a picture.  Drapery generally experience lateral forces as they are opened and closed, and would most likely shift.  A good rule of thumb is to only use monkey hooks for something that could hang off of a hook.

Monkey hooks worked great. The pack contained flush hooks, standard hooks and gorilla hooks. I used 2 standard hooks to wall mount a heavy picture on a stud wall. The job was done in minutes and the picture shows no sign of falling down. The only problem I could see would be if you were unlucky enough to hit a stud rather than a cavity behind the plasterboard at the chosen mounting position - guess I was lucky!
