It is large enough for my dog to get his face in it without knocking it over and I don’t have to worry about him accidentally collapsing it. Bought these to use when we flew to pick up our new puppy. We wanted bowls that could travel with us, but were easy to clean and dry and that a new puppy would be comfortable eating and drinking from. These fit the bill. They’re not super small and compact so I wouldn’t buy them to keep in your hiking pack or if you want to maximize space. But, these are great to toss in a suitcase and use at a hotel. Sturdier and easier to clean than the collapsible type bowls.
