What isn't explained, and is obvious perhaps when you'll start applying the dye, is that the odors are strong, and ammonia-like. It'll wake you up. You'll also need to carefully mask all the areas that may fall outside of the negative mask.I know this sounds more complex to describe than it is... essentially, be careful about spreading the dye only under areas that will be exposed under your negative. If you happen to spread out farther than the edge of the negative (which can easily happen if you're using the supplied rubber roller, and not a brush) be sure to cover that area with cardboard, magazines, or something opaque. Otherwise, you'll see those areas darken outside of your design. I'm sure you'll prevent that from happening.Ok, just minutes in the sun, and you'll notice the color appearing. Colors are personal, but I find the blue to be pleasing... although I'd prefer a darker shade. After washing in the supplied detergent, I'm happy with the results. No odor after drying, and it looks permanent. Details were clear.Tips:1. Blue + Orange makes Brown/Sepia.2. You can save some money, and get immediate results by printing on transparency film. I had some around, and laser printed my pattern with success.3. Take some time to review their videos online... they'll help you avoid mistakes.4.
