The most basic coffee maker is a win
I wanted a coffee maker without the auto-off feature and this coffee maker delivered. It is so nice to have a fresh pot of coffee anytime I want. The heat plate keeps the coffee at the perfect temperature and the glass carafe pours the coffee just fine despite what other reviews have said. The black is like a piano finish if a plastic coffee maker could have a piano finish. Real good looking machine. Very easy to use and clean. You will not go wrong with this coffee maker if all you want is a basic coffee maker.

DEFECTIVE HOTPLATE
While I've given this coffee maker the maximum stars for flavor and ease of cleaning and use, I'd never buy it again (nor any other Mixpresso product) nor recommend it to others, based mainly upon the hotplate (where the glass carafe rests) that either arrived defective (unnoticed) or became defective within a week or so after the coffee maker was first used, which is when I first noticed it (I purchased it in January 2020 but I didn't use it for the first time until May 2020). Unlike every other manufacturer's coffee maker I've ever used, the hotplate on this one is detached from the coffee maker, slanted and, when pressed down, it springs back. I don't think this is the way it's supposed to be and I worry it's a fire hazard. Therefore, I'm throwing it away and ordering another coffee maker from a different manufacturer altogether. Based upon this experience (my first and only with Mixpresso), I have no confidence in their products. Their customer service department offered me a free replacement of this same coffee maker but, for the reason I've already explained, I don't want another coffee maker from them, I want a refund of my purchase price, which they aren't willing to do. I just want everyone who's thinking about purchasing this coffee maker to be aware of the hotplate defect on mine. My additional complaints (although, by comparison, are minor) are: 1) the white numbers on the glass carafe indicating the cup levels are difficult to read, 2) the water level indicator is on one side of the coffee maker only, not on both sides as has always been my experience with coffee makers from other manufacturers, 3) the red off/on button looks bright red even when it's in the off position, making it necessary to be on top of the coffee maker in order to make sure the last person who used it had remembered to turn it off, 4) the coffee doesn't pour into the cup without some of it falling onto the countertop.I gave this Mixpresso coffee maker a try because every Mr. Coffee coffee maker I've used lasted only 12-18 months before its innards became so clogged (despite proper cleaning) that it stopped working altogether (plus, every hotplate peeled and rusted long before the coffee maker had become totally clogged). Even with a relatively inexpensive coffee maker, I expect it to last a lot longer than 12-18 months. So I'm finished with both Mixpresso and Mr. Coffee and now I'm going to give Gevi a try (I ordered it yesterday on Amazon's website).

It works
It works good coffee ☕️ only 4 stars because I ordered a 10 cup but got an 8. The coffee machine is a bit flimsy but I like the simplicity of it.

Does what a coffee pot should
After spending hundreds of dollars a year replacing my keurig style coffee makers I finally decided to go back to a regular coffee maker. Been using it every day for a couple months now and it works just fine. Heats up and brews coffee. Much more friendly on the wallet to then the pods. If it quits working I’m not out much I’ll buy again!

Ok but lots of little annoyances
I was happy with my old 12 cup brewer but I only brew 6-8 cups so I thought something smaller would be better. I also wanted a "cone" filter brewer because I would often brew less than a full pot of coffee.1. This one has a "cone" but it's only the reusable basket filter. What it fits into is more round bowl shaped with ribs sticking out. If you put a paper filter into this bowl the coffee seems weak. If you use only toe provided reusable basket the finer grounds get through into your pot. I use both and it brews a decent cup of coffee.2. It's slow. I can't compare times because my old brewer quit -that''s why I bought a new one -but it seems to take as long to brew 8 cups in this as it did to brew 12 cups in the old one.3. Pour slow or clean up the mess. Not only does it brew slowly but you must pour slowly or the pot dribbles all over whatever is under it.4. It seems to put out a LOT of steam at the end of the brewing cycle. I'm used to a little steam at the end of the brewing cycle but this one turns into a real steamer. I'm concerned that over time it will damage the cabinet that is over the brewer. So, that's it. It brews a decent cup of coffee but there are these annoying little things. I suspect I will replace it before long.

A little powerhouse of a simple coffeemaker.
All I wanted was a normal, basic, full-sized, reliable coffeemaker that just had an on/off switch. No touchscreens with endless options, LEDs, and alarms. That was the main reason I bought this specific model. It arrived today. I washed it out, filled it up with water and my normal coffee ratio of 1 heaping scoop to every four cups of water.I turned it on.It started brewing IMMEDIATELY. I mean, not like I walked into the other room and heard it start brewing soon. I mean, I turned on the switch, and it immediately started brewing. I stepped away to do something else for five minutes, and when I came back, it was already done. All 12 cups of coffee. A full pot of coffee. It was also pretty quiet. No hissing or screaming. And, it tastes delicious. I mentioned my personal coffee ratio above, and anyone who knows anything about brewing coffee knows that the temperature that you brew it at makes a big difference, and, while I don't know what temperature this coffeemaker is brewing the coffee at, it's apparently the exact correct temperature for hot-brewed coffee.Anyway, this seems to be a good, solid, productive coffeemaker. No extra whistles and streamers. Just a machine that brews good coffee. 'Nuff said.
