Lakeland Muslin Straining Squares 45cm (Ideal for Large Batches of Jam) x 5

I love making jellies and, over the years, have had many an adventure balancing jelly bag stands, heavy with fruit puree. They've tipped over or the weight has been too great for the elasticated top. So I thought I'd give these a go and use them to line a sieve or colander as shown in the product image. It's worked a treat and my wobbly jelly stand has gone in the bin. The squares are large enough to line a large colander with ease and fine enough to strain well. The edges are not hemmed and look as if they could fray with time but I'll be happy to get a new set, they work so well and without any mess.

not sure if these are designed to 'throw away after a couple of uses?' disappointing that the edges are not sealed & frayed considerably when washed in a wash bag........possibly in check with the price? other opinions or product suggestions please?
