The meme pant by prAna is made from stretch Zion performance fabric and woven with a durable water repellant finish. This cargo pant is cut for a Fitted silhouette with a mid-rise and a skinny leg. Fabric content: shell: 97 nylon/3 spandex; trim: 100 polyester. Review: Great hiking pants with pretty good stretch - First of all, I LOVE these hiking pants after wearing them all day today. I ordered the size 4 in black and was debating also ordering a 6 to compare the fit but decided to stick with the 4 because it loosens up just enough to be comfortable without feeling loose enough to be annoying while hiking. My measurements: waist: 26", hips: 39.5", calves: 15.25" (I usually wear a size 5, 6, or 7 in pants). These pants are very comfortable in the hips but feel the most restricted in the knees and calves (see photos for fabric seam locations and general fit). Pros: great material that can be brushed off easily while hiking in dirt, lots of pockets which will hold my cell phone and everything else I don't want to open my pack to get frequently, belt loops for a belt or to clip carabiners on, 97% nylon means it won't shrink on me over time. Cons: the black is not as dark as a true black. It is slightly lighter in color than most of my black clothes, but definitely not a deal breaker for me. I just like my blacks to be as dark as my soul, you know?. I wish it was 4 or 5% spandex rather than 3% elastane, but 3% is better than nothing and it stretches well enough; I wish the seams above/below the knee were not so restrictive, but it only becomes noticable when climbing up a step approximately 2 feet tall or greater, or when crossing your legs to sit ("criss-cross applesauce" style). If these pants were 4 or 5% elastic I think the knee seams wouldn't seem so restrictive. Would I recommend these and order again? Definitely. Review: Awesome, attractive hiking / travel pants! - I'm 5'2", 118 lbs, and a size 2 (also my size in the prAna Sage pants, except I normally wear a Short inseam) fits like a glove. The inseam is a bit long on me, but I can cuff it or just leave it bunched a bit at the ankle and get a bit more protection from sun and bugs. The stretch is great for my thighs, which are a bit large on my frame. My one complaint is that the waistband is tiny and does not stretch much, so it is a bit of a challenge to pull on over my (also slightly large) hips. I've heard from several people that these pants stretch out*, however. They honestly just look awesome -- I bought them for hiking and travel, but I really wouldn't have a problem wearing them to a bar. The cargo pockets are annoying to open and close due to the covered buttons, but they look nice, fit my phone and passport, and don't catch on anything I brush past. The hand pockets are very shallow, which is the biggest weak point of these pants. *EDIT 4/27/16: After wearing these on a week-long vacation and washing/line drying, they have definitely loosened up a bit and are now perfect. +1 star. FWIW, I didn't wash these throughout that trip, but they smelled and felt clean the entire time. I did get some mud up on the legs, but it came out without any effort on my part in a regular wash cycle. I really hope these stay in production, but I will be buying another pair in Khaki just in case!

Love my new hiking pants!
UPDATE: The khaki pair arrived and fits completely differently from the green. Unbearably tight in the thigh (I even had an incredibly unattractive bulge over the cargo pocket where my skin / muscle / fat got constricted) and loose in the waist. Khaki is going back and I'm on the hunt for something different! I ordered these pants for an upcoming safari. I'm 5'4", 128 lbs (usually a size 4 / 27) and ordered a size 4 in the green. I often find that pants that fit through the thigh are too big in the waist but these are perfect! Skinny (but not skin-tight) fit throughout, and stylish enough that I can wear them around the city too -- thus avoiding overpacking for the trip. They're also lightweight enough to wear in warm weather -- important because I prefer to wear long pants for bug protection when I'm outdoors. They also have reinforced knees which suggests that they'll hold up over the long run. They're a touch long so will have them hemmed to ankle length so I can tuck them into boots and socks. Ordered a second pair in dark khaki.

All around PraNa fit style review, PHEW! Love this brand!
I recently ordered like 8 pairs of PraNa women's hiking pants for comparisons on styles and sizes and I'm probably even more confused HA! Since PraNa has so many different styles and fits I'm going to include my review of the 4 styles I have so you can compare if you already have one style. So, I'll start with my measurements I am a 5'10, 150lbs, 34B, pear shape, large booty/thighs, normally a 27/28 (6-9)tall pant gal and seriously each style/size/color fits SO differently. In the MEME pants I found that both the 6 & 8 (inseam measured while wearing was 31") fit great (PraNa true fit said I should order size 6). BUT when hiking in the size 8 I felt super restricted and I found the MEME pants didn't have as much give or stretch as the HALLE pants when climbing or taking larger steps on the trail. The crotch was longer too and I kept pulling them up so my crotch wasn't sagging down, loosened a little throughout my hike. Style wise these are super cute, and I loved how the skinny pant wore with my hiking boots. Cargo pockets fit tissues nicely-that's about all, I used the back pocket for my iPhone 6+. No drawstring inside. [I kept both the size 6 coal & 8 cargo green] In the BRENNA pants I found them to be WAY too short for me (I typically like a 33" inseam, but can handle a 31" if I really like the pants), the size 6 measured while wearing was 29" inseam and I felt had the best fit for me; the size 8 was 30" inseam and had a little looser of a fit. Super cute, but just too short for a tall girl like me. The "knee detail" was super cute and the material was a lot thicker and closer to a colored denim- not as much stretch as the HALLE or BRIANN pants. No drawstring inside. [I sent both cargo green back] In the BRIANN pants I found the more comfortable size to be 6 (tall, I think the inseam was 32"). I was, in error, sent an 8 (short) and found them to obviously be way too short (28" inseam) and the crotch hung down way too low. The BRIANN size 6 tall were probably my favorite skinny pant of the 3 styles, which I wasn't expecting! They have a good amount of give when walking, but don't sag down when you have the proper size. No drawstring inside. [l kept the 6T coal and sent back the 8S moonrock] In the HALLE I can wear an 8 & 10 (tall) comfortably-but when hiking is where you really tell the difference in the styles and sizes; the size 10 definitely started loosening throughout my hikes. The tall inseam is seriously 36" and a little too long, but I didn't hem them-with my hiking boots they don't drag. I prefer the size 8, but the drawstrings inside helped when the size 10 started loosening throughout my 15 mile hike. The one front pocket fit tissues nicely-that's about all, I used the back pocket for my iPhone 6+. These are my overall favorite pants of the 4 styles, the size 8 is my new go-to. I recently ordered them in a size 6 to see how they fit-will update when I receive them. Drawstring inside. [I kept 10T dark khaki, 8T coal, and just ordered raisin 6T.]

Really cute and comfortable, but may not work for muscular legs
I'm 5'7" and ~180lbs, typically wear size 12 in pants, so I ordered size 12. I have the same problem with these that I have with many pants: they fit my waist but are tight on my muscular legs. I ordereda pair of green and a pair of coal. The coal pair fits better on my waist and break in to be a little too big, the green pair fit bigger from the get-go and ever-so-slightly baggy in the crotch, so they look like they just don't quite fit me right. I'm fairly certain if I went down to a 10, the legs would be way too tight. I saw a review where someone mentioned the issue of the seam across the thigh digging into her leg; I do not have that problem with the coal pair, however, in the green pair the seam is just tight enough that it's pulling the pants down a little when I walk. Style-wise, they're incredibly cute. I love the green color, I like the placement of the cargo pockets, the back of the pants makes my booty look good. They have the perfect amount of stretch, the material is thin enough to feel light and cool, but thick enough that I feel they're durable for field work. They seem to be good quality, BUT after wearing the coal pair only three times and washing them once, I noticed a seam was coming undone as I was hanging them up to dry. This was EXTREMELY disappointing for $70 pants.

Real, functional pockets for professional women
One con that I know of so far, let's get it out of the way: They are slightly too long for a petite woman. Not quite enough to hem, but it's a thing. I'm 5'4" and about 160 lbs., and bought a size 10 - for those judging the fit. If you are tall, not even this is a con. I'm balancing chronic health issues with full-time work providing for a family of six. I need to carry things, but these health issues impact my memory at unpredictable times - so I can easily lose things like purses. Pockets are not an optional feature for me; they are a critical part of managing my significant responsibilities with my health problems. These pants have pockets. Two huge cargo pockets. You could put a largish paperback novel in each one, if you are a prolific reader. The cloth is wrinkle-resistant, so it looks professional - and while I've only just received mine and haven't actually put them through the wash yet, I suspect that they will not need ironing. This same quality could make them ideal for travelling, but really... who *likes* to iron daily work clothes? They do fit close to the leg, and approach leggings. This could be good, if you want the option to layer them under a skirt for a slightly funky look, but could be bad if you want a business-casual look that is more "business" than "casual". I wear them with longer shirts and don't feel immodest doing so, but can see how someone else might worry. The mid-rise means they don't feel like they are falling off - an issue I have with many "trendy" pants. I honestly cannot conceive of a reason I will ever wear any other pants ever again, unless Prana stops manufacturing these - provided they last as well as their apparent quality suggests they will. I will be buying extra pairs in my size, just to be sure I have some stocked up in case Prana discontinues them in the future. As they get older, I will be doing yard work and hiking in these pants. They are that comfortable. Also, I will be evangelizing these pants to my friends. I am so scared that Prana will stop making them, and I need pants like these in my life. I don't normally market for my favorite products on my social networks, but these pants are worth it.

Great fit for muscular/curvy legs. Size 14
Prana is one of my favorite brands because they seem to understand how to fit clothes correctly for us curvy and muscular girls. Too many “outdoor” brands expect women to be stick thin, and most all those require me to up size by 1-2 pant sizes. Prana sizes are more forgiving, extremely comfortable, and have a nice stretch. I’m 5’9 and weigh 180 and wear a size 14 in jeans. The size 14 in the Prana Meme style fit me perfectly. Be aware that this style is slim fitting on the legs. I have muscular legs/calves and they are definitely tight, but the stretch of these pants make them work and fit perfectly. They are a little too warm to wear outdoors on humid days, but I am planning to wear them plenty this fall. They are nice enough to dress up for office wear but casual and comfortable enough to wear on some easy hikes/walks. As for care, I have washed them in my washer several times. Always cold wash and always hang to dry. They would probably be fine in dryer, but I don’t ever chance it. I’ll continue to support Prana as long as they continue to make great clothes!

Good pants
Like others have mentioned, these pants run big. I normally wear a size 10 pants, but in the black I had to go down to a size 6, size 8 in the quartz. I'm 5'3", 148 lbs, have narrow hips and small rear. The black pants aren't a true black, more like a charcoal gray. But, dark enough to wear to work with a nice top. These pants are slim fit, hug the legs, and go down past the ankle, which I prefer. I was able to put a pair of base layer pants underneath without any issues. The thigh and back pockets are all button close pockets. The thigh pockets are fairly big. My Samsung Galaxy S7 fit in it, but nothing else would be able to for in that pocket with it. I couldn't button the pocket closed, though that wasn't an issue for me. They've been through 2 washes so far; no fading or material deterioration that I noticed. The pants are definitely water resistant, I purposely dropped a handful of water on them to test it. The water beaded and rolled right off. Have yet to try them in the rain, but I think they'll probably get saturated with more water. I'll update once I've tried them out in those conditions. All in all, I really like these pants and plan to buy more.
