The fabric is thin, smooth and transparent, like for a shirt. It does not look like it would absorb enough water to be used as a towel. It looks like the edges were sealed well so it will probably not fray when I wash it. Some of the glitter comes off when I touch it, but I don't think that will be a problem because it is not going to directly touch the food in my basket. I have not washed it yet so I hope the glitter will not wash away. The size is 14 inches by almost 22 inches.
