Gears and Gear Cutting for Home Machinists

This book has been written in a very clear & concise manor, making the topic approachable by way of breaking the subject matter down into its fundamental constituents. I cannot speak highly enough of the writing style & will definitely be looking into the authors other books. Very informative, easy & enjoyable read.

Unbelievable how much info can be squeezed into one book!I love gears and wanna know everything about them!

The book does not show a lot of diference to the original but never the less it is a very informative and usefull book.

Basically the publishers are acting fraudulently, by claiming this is an updated edition. It is not, therefore it is even more woefully out of date than my 20 year old edition, which itself wasn't significantly updated from the original edition I got from the local library. It has the same hopelessly out of date photos as the previous edition, but printed in even worse quality. Definitely not worth buying, and barely acknowledges the existence of the metric system used by the vast majority of the world, and this latest edition has even introduced some USA style mispellings into the text, but without actually updating it.

I have a workshop practice series 17 Gears and Gear Cutting and was expecting a fuller offering. Not even the error in the calculations for bevel gears that were commented on in 2015 have been corrected. The layout remains more or less the same but the typeface is smaller.

Es uno de los mejores libros que he tenido en mis manos para elaborar engranes eso sí no incluye mucha información de engranes cicloidales pero la información de los engranajes envolventes es muy completa, lo recomiendo mucho

A informative book on gear cutting even for fully trained machinists, but it did not cover spiral bevel gears, although most Hobbits wouldn't have the equipment to cut them. All in all a good practical application on gear cutting.
