Road Kill RKFR6 Fast Rings 3-Piece Foam Speaker Enhancer Kit, Black, 6.5

Made a massive difference in my Toyota Auris speakers, Anyone upgrading their speakers should install these. It’s very easy they do not move once you have everything installed. All labeled and packaged nicely. Big foam for the door skin, one ring around the back of the speaker, once for the front. Cut to size again easy, there are YouTube videos for this. Good quality and I can hear my bass instead of door rattle.

Looks good quality and heard good things about it so can't wait to fit it.

I encourage anyone thinking of doing something with your car audio to try these out there fantastic they enhance the mids and tighten the bass also they decouple the speakers from the door and door card so when the bass drops you don't get anything rattling which only adds to the enjoyment of the music more.

They Work as intended very good product

Fitted these with Focal speakers to my Caddy, really easy to cut and fit, stick on perfectly.

Used these on an other car before and knew the benefits of combining this and aftermarket speakers. Very easy to install. If you have adapters on the speakers see if the middle ring fits in the adapter, if so sick in side the adapter (on the same way it go's on the speaker) and check to see the over lap with the inner part, if so I would advise to buy some eva foam sheets to pad between the speaker and adapter. If the window drops behind the speaker, then stick the inner part onto the driver (bit with the magnet) and check for clearance between the speaker and the window. Cut if touching. This is the process I went though for it to work. Unfortunately didnt take photos of the fitting.

Seems to do a good job reducing resonance by sealing the speaker off from the rest of the door panel and instead directing it out towards the speaker hole in the trim. Even though my doors where fully sound deadened with butyl liner and CCF there was still a deep rattle present the really low tones. This seems to have gotten rid of that and further improve sound quality by directing sound where it should be. I didn’t quite understand the use in the second largest circle/foam and didn’t use it. Only issue is that the foam wasn’t wide enough to fit around the speaker bracket and I ripped one of the foam rings. For the other door I cut it to fit and applied a noise blocking foam over the separation.

Vibrations gone Mid base increased tinni treble decreased overall sound has improved and sounds like factory fit speakers if you have upgraded your speakers.

Work well, and held up good over the years

I bought these to help a set of adapter rings that were listed as fitting an 08 Subaru Outback, which they do sorta.... They bolt up fine, the screw pattern is there, but with a gap towards the front edge of the door. At first I used some Gorilla Tape and.some RTV, but that wasn't enough. Using the Road Kill foam rings made a huge difference. I removed the speaker from the ring and stuffed the smaller {cut down} foam ring around the inner perimeter of the adapter and stretched the bigger one around the outside circumference stuck to the door itself. A WORLD of difference! In the back, I used them more "traditionally" as a basket for the modified stock rings and again stretched around the outside circumference of the speaker ring mounted to the door. The sound out of my new 6.5 JVC speakers won't touch my old 6x9 3 ways, but they're far better with the Road Kill rings than without. They're much more focused and they sound more like they're "in the car" than before I installed them. I installed the speakers, drove around for a day, then turned around and ordered these rings. I should've bought them when I bought the speakers. Don't get me wrong, I still need an underseat subwoofer, but these will allow me to wait until it cools off to install one. 5 month update: The speakers have broken in properly (yes, that's a thing) and with the foam rings in place they sound pretty damn good in a car with no OEM sound deadening material in / on the doors. Obviously, having any sound deadening material would be leaps and bounds better, but these help. The subwoofer was a good choice too.
