I tried several pieces in several jars and the submerger pieces are just a little too large in diameter. I'm baffled by this since both size jars use the same seal and lids. Yes it's plastic, but I don't care. It's easy to clean, no need to be sterile. The rubber plugs are a great addition for when you're ready to put it in the fridge and slow the fermentation process.
