They **Q: How to fit mk3 c spring** A: This is not with out its dangers,so be very careful,i wear gloves,not sure it would be of much use but guess it helps.First remove broken spring remove plastic cover to spring unit is there is one fitted. Attach one end of spring to the fixed point at the opposite end of the spring to the side that it will be attached to with the cable. Next put the wire cable around the pully on the end of the spring when it is laying in the box section,you then need attach an end of the wire cable to the fixing point and feed the other end over the pulley wheel at the top channel .Then to pull the cable and this is the tricky bit ,pull it enough to attach the end of the new spring to the bent piece in the channel once it is clipped on and be very careful because if it slips off and you have the cable in your hand it will take your fingers off. Once it is safely clipped on you can then feed the wire cable down the channel and clip it to the bracket on the roller bar which is fitted to the door. Once the cable is fixed to the bracket on the roller you take the cable in your hands and pull it out towards you from the channel enough to release the spring from it securing bracket ,hold tight and release slowly making sure the cable is still attached to the roller and is running over the pulleys the one on the end of the spring and the other which is at the top of the channel.
