Satan's Affair

Twisted, gory, oh so dark
This was a hell of an intense read. Definitely not for the faint of heart, this is a very bloody graphic book. I read another review where they compared the story to something Rob Zombie would write, and that is a perfect comparison. There is one hell of a twist with this story. I did very much enjoy this book, I strongly suggest reading the trigger warnings and if you are iffy on any of the dark themes then this book may not be for you.

Nice intro to the series
I’m new to the dark romance genre, so I thought starting with this short read before jumping into a full novel might help me see if I’d like it. I definitely cringed and made disgusted faces throughout the book, but overall it was a really good read! This author did a good job with descriptive imagery, it was very gory at times, but nothing too bad that made me skip parts. In the end, I was quite sad for Sibel and what came of her life. I plan to read Haunting Adeline next and I really hope she joins Zade or has some kind of redemption come up but I know that’s wishful thinking. Anyways, it was a good short read and intro to this genre.

Fan's of Rob Zombie May Love This!
Satan's Affair is a dark and gruesome reverse harem novella that is not for the faint of heart. It follows the story of Sibel, a disturbed woman who believes it's her mission to rid the world of evil by hunting down and killing those she deems to be demonic. The setting is a traveling Halloween carnival called Satan's Affair, and the author does a great job of creating a creepy and eerie atmosphere that adds to the horror of the story. While the writing itself is well done, and the author's ability to create such a disturbing and unsettling story is impressive, the book is not without its flaws. The character of Sibel is incredibly disturbing, and her actions throughout the story are downright horrifying. This is not a book for readers who are sensitive to violence, gore, or explicit sexual content. The first half of the novella was a bit of a real struggle to get through, as it's filled with graphic scenes of murder and sexual violence that are hard to stomach. However, the last few chapters of the book provided a much-needed plot twist that makes up for the brutality of the first half. The ending is also quite interesting, leaving me with many unanswered questions.Overall, while Satan's Affair is certainly not for everyone, those who enjoy dark and disturbing horror stories will likely find it to be a compelling read. However, readers who are sensitive to extreme violence, gore, and explicit sexual content should definitely steer clear of this book.

LOVED THIS BOOK!
I love this book! It was my very first dark romance and just WOW! Definitely a great read. Between the dark sadistic twists and turns, the overall spice, and the plot- I LOVE Sibby. I feel in some way that her wanting to rid the world of evil is justified. We always "hate the villian" for doing what needs to be done- but most times the villain is in the right because they do what they have to.

Shocking
I purchased this book because I kept seeing Haunting Adeline on TikTok and I was curious about that book. After some research I learned that Satan’s Affair was a sequel to the Cat and Mouse Duet. So after receiving it I immediately started reading it and had a hard time putting it down.Needless to say I finished the 144 page book within 24 hours of it coming into my possession.I have never read anything like this book before. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. It is full of violence, gore, torture, sexually explicit situations, and it touches on rape, child abuse, and sex trafficking. One of the more brutal scenes in the book almost made me stop reading it but I am glad that that the scene wasn’t drawn out and ended quickly. After that the rest of the book seemed tame in comparison.I absolutely loved the twist ending, and I am curious and eager to read the rest of the books set in this universe.I gave the book 4 stars due to a couple of typos and the one scene I could have done without. However I found it very intriguing and entertaining.

Hello rollercoaster of emotions, buckle up kids!
Admittedly, I had zero interest in reading this book, I only did because it was recommended before starting Haunting Adeline. HOWEVER, I actually really liked this book! It's a very short read so you can get through it very quickly. This book is hella dark and is pretty gruesome. If you aren't a fan of horror style movies, you probably won't enjoy reading this book. There are quite detailed scenes that you would likely find bothersome. Definitely check the trigger warnings before reading this book.Sybil (Sibby) is our main character, and she works at a haunted fair called Satan's Affair. She has a mission to rid the world of evil souls, or demons as she likes to call them. When they enter her doll house, she smells them to see if they are pure or evil, and then she passes judgement on them. She has a handful of henchmen that work very closely with her on her mission, and they also enjoy group festivities together, especially after getting rid of demons. She grew up with a father that ran a cult and had many children with underage girls, claiming he was doing God's bidding. Sybil endured many years of abuse of all sorts, which created lasting effects for her."He's not God's disciple. He's Lucifer's little bitch."This book has some major twists in it, especially at the end. You get a glimpse of Zade in this book, who is one of the main characters in the rest of this series. And by the end of this book I was feeling a whirlwind of emotions for Sibby.I liked how H.D. Carlton approached her personality and mannerisms, given the way she was raised. I felt like it was accurate for a girl that had grown up and was treated in the way Sibby had been.Overall, I really liked this book for what it was, and I would highly recommend reading it, even if you aren't planning on reading Haunting or Hunting Adeline."Maybe people with dark souls aren’t all bad. Just because they’re dark, that doesn’t mean they’re not redeemable. That doesn’t mean there isn’t good in there."

This took Halloween books to another level
I wasn’t expecting the graphics scenes, but as a horror movie fan I was thrilled it with. Carlton mixes well the grotesque, the sexy and the “flashback” parts, and even though you know Sibby is technically wrong you still cheer for her!The plot twist left me shocked for a few minutes, and it was so good! It remembers me of my favorite movie.I think the only “complain” I’ve about the book it’s not having a Portuguese version to share it my friends. (Also, the waiting that starts now to read Sibby’s next adventure)

Amazing Book!!!!
I started the book because I wanted to read Haunting and Hunting Adeline. Many people said it was better to read it beforehand and I'm glad. I really like the story but the plot shocked me. I didn't see it coming and I don't really like it because I wished that these men were real But the plot itself is fantastic! Its just my opinion. I hope that I get to know her better in Haunting and Hunting adeline and that she gets her happy ending.
