Review: Waterproof cape and fishing - Good size, perfect for fishing. Waterproof in worst conditions. Useful when on stool, box, chair etc, keeps all equipment covered. Very light, but sweaty inside on long walks, undo studs for ventilation, no longer a problem. Hood excellent size, may creep down a bit, but wear a cap, hat etc.. underneath and the hood becomes perfect for the job. Very useful when under umbrella and have to leave umbrella to land a large fish; cape keeps you dry, just be careful when bending down not to step on cape. Slight note of warning, watch for thorn bushes, although the material is 'ripstop'; thorns seem large this year with all the rain we have had in June. Rain obvivously drips off at the bottom, can soak shoes and the lower part of trousers, recommend wearing water proof trousers or leggings with approriate boots or footwear. Overall excellent piece of gear for the price. Will keep you dry. Need not be used just for fishing. Don't let camo put you off, not just suitable for fishing but also for stalking, camping, shooting etc... The cape is so light and in its own pouch, worth keeping in car or rucksack for emergencies. The woodland camo pattern is fine, fished the other day wearing cape during downpour and caught in the margins 13 carp on club lake up to 15LBS. Personally would not use it for it just in case. Really meant for wet weather, ie guard duty, fishing or walking dog. Bit on thin side I think for what you would want to you it for. Although airsoft not so powerful as paint ball. However, price seems to have rocketed so maybe they are better quality. Think got mine between £5 - 8, so have a green one and a camo one. **Q: how many eyelets does this have, and whats it like ad a shelter** A: Hi, 4 eyelets each side. used for military therefore not only strong but long and covers the body well. Totally waterproof. last time used it got caught in a downpour whilst carp fishing, prefect for the job even when landing a carp, kept totally dry. These are so good bought 2 an always keep one in the car. Don't expect it to keep you warm, but dry yes. Suggest waterproof leggings as lower trousers can get wet when walking. Have one camo and one just green. Plenty of room for movement. **Q: Can you attach two together to make a large shelter using the press studs** A: not really suitable for this, it will connect together, but will leave large gaps between fastenings. **Q: Will this give adequate coverage to protect you from getting blitzed by fast moving cars driving through a deep puddle by you? Enough side protection?** A: The question should be will it give protectin against speeding cars and lorries through deep water and as in all cases of drivers, not caring who they swamp the answer would depend on how far away the vehicle is. Under normal wet conditions then the answer is "YES". I am disabled and ride a Tricycle. I have kept completely dry against drivers passing me at a reasonable speed in heavy rain. It arrived within the week i ordered it despite bad weather and on opening I was very impressed. The poncho is huge which allowed me and my burgen to remain dry despite walking 3 miles in heavy rain. Only my lower half of my shines got wet which was not a big deal. The sides of the poncho are connected with 'pop buttons' which can be undone to create a large waterproof sheet mush like you're very own basha/tarp! This makes it useful to have at hand, especially for camping as it it light weight and can be worn or made into a shelter. it is easy to dry and clean. The only downfall with this product is that it did not feel very strong.
