I had to buy the rods, paper and some extra gloves and I would definitely get some wool to go around his head next time as the product drips all over (it does state in the instructions to use wool). I followed the steps and it turned out great. Some of his hair at the back wasn't long enough for the rods but it all mixes together anyway. Overall...great product. It does smell but it's not terrible and my son is fussy and managed through. It doesn't take that long to do either. Need to make sure you don't wash your hair for 72 hours afterwards. (So I assume if anything goes wrong or you don't like the look afterwards if you have washed it with shampoo hair would go straight again) He's had it for about 2weeks and so far it looks great he loves it! This full head of perm kit was more than sufficient for my collar length hair, there was plenty of lotion. Sadly these kits no longer provide the conditioner and cotton wool to stop drips, I used rolled up kitchen roll, and my own conditioner.
