It is a well built cabinet and honestly it is the best amp I've ever had for so much less $$$. I have had no chips or dents. Way better than my Ampeg which actually did have the tolex rip even though it was in a case as well. The GK is just this little unassuming high quality amplifier with huge sound that cuts through so nice. You won't regret buying it. I couldn't believe it. **Q: How does this sound paired with an external 12” cabinet? Good enough for most jazz and moderately loud rock gigs?** A: By it self, no external speaker, it’ll handle a jazz gig. I’ve done rock gigs with the basic unit itself. Even though I have an external speaker I’ve actually never used it **Q: No master volume? Just gain control?** A: Nope. Once you set the gain properly, you control the volume from the guitar. **Q: Why this combo is manufactured in china while the same combo shown on a youtube review is designed and assembled in the us ? what's the difference ?** A: Be sure that you are getting the "Version-II" version 2 series, Made in USA, with some improved design elements and better dependability.
