Streamlight 88077 ProTac HPL USB 1000-Lumen Long-Range USB Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight with USB Cord and Holster, Black

This is my 5th Streamlight and I still have all the others (Different sizes and still working great). I have a farm and I am always out at night checking water and such. This light throws the center beam far and has the additional flood supporting the focused beam. For me, this allows me to see several rows over with focus, and lights up the areas around where I am looking. I love the fact that I can adjust the switch to repeat the brightness I want, and it returns exactly to the level out put I want every time. For my needs, this is the best light I have that is somewhat compact and extremely bright. They have come a long way with LED technology in the last 10 years, and this light shows that. I also like the fact that this light does a good job of staying cool for quite a while. I am only using it for 15 minutes or so at a time, and have had no issues with heat.

The flashlight in the picture is incorrect. It is a picture of a pocket flashlight. The 88077 is a larger flashlight at 7 inches. It is amazingly bright. Seems to be very well made and I would rebuy if I were ever in need of another. As a mechanic it is cheaper than buying off the tool truck and still a great piece of equipment. The USB charging is perfect and better than switching batteries. Perfect for charging over night while sitting on my toolbox.

I found this light to be of good quality. I would have preferred the light beam to be a little more focused. This light is pretty bright, it illuminates a fairly large area. If you need to get out in the dark for home defense or some other reason, I think one would be happy with the flood area of the light and the brightness. If you're looking for a tightly focused beam with less flood area you may be a little disappointed.Some have reported problems with charging. I found that this light, for me, has had no problems being charged and holding a charge. I have used this light on max brightness for several minutes, 10 to 30 minutes, and have had no issues.This is the second one of these lights I have purchased. I lost the first and liked this light enough to buy a second one. I would recommend this light to most who need to get out in the dark and do whatever. In a situation where one may need to hold a firearm and a light at the same time, this light for some may be a tad long.

I probably have 8-10 Streamlights of various sizes. I have a bigger, heavier one that is not quite as bright, but it’s more of a flood than a spotlight. This one is smaller, but def brighter. Rechargeable battery. Not a club.

I don't review often, but I just got this ProTac HPL USB with micro USB charging...it's great quality, feels great in your hands, and has a nice heavy feel (almost 0.6lb). Most importantly it is amazingly effective at generating light. I have large attic and it shines from one end to the other with no issues, illuminating everything within scope. I love everything about it, EXCEPT IT GETS VERY HOT to the touch after continuous use (within 5min). I called Streamlight and got in touch with a friendly person within a couple minutes. He said that all HL models do get hot to the touch because of the very high lumen output. In fact, there's a "HOT" label on the flashlight head that indicates as much. I will keep this because of the fantastic light output, but just wanted to share the info. Product LED changes from red to green once completely charged.

I purchased this for duty use, as a "Used-like new" item.When used on patrol on night shift, this light is brighter and projects further than my patrol car mounted LED spot light!To say I'm pleased with this flashlight is an extreme understatement!I typically use an 18650 9900mAh rechargeable batteries, which i also use in backup flashlights and my rifle mounted light.The streamlight battery only lasted about an hour and a half as advertised, the 18650 batteries i use will typically last an entire 10 hour shift no problem.
