Houselife Bench Dog Clamps Changed My Sanding Game
The Houselife Bench Dog Clamps are a real game changer when doing project work. They securely hold the item on the bench to facilitate sanding, drilling, or cutting. The clamps mount to any ¾” hole in the bench, and while secure enough just pinned into the hole, they can be secured to the bottom of the bench with the supplied knobs. There are two quick release clamps that can be adjusted to reach up to 5” from the mounting hole. There are also two stationary blocks that can be used opposite the clamps, or along the project to hold the work in place. Either way, the project can be strongly secured. The pads that rest against the project are ½” tall, which allows most projects to be sanded without having to worry about sanding the clamps. These clamps are a welcome addition to any project bench.

3\4" holes a little Tight
I have several different types of Dog Hole clamps and tools and this is pretty versatile except that my 3\4" holes are a little tight for these Almost like these are made for Metric like a 19mm which is like .05 mm smaller. I have made them work but put correct size on these. Also not sure why there are knobs included I can't imagine that anyone would need to attach these more or less permanently when Bench dogs are supposed to be removable It seems like a lot of extra work just to attach the knobs underneath your bench then remove them to move the Dog tools.

Solid clamp for table tops
I was impressed for the price when compared against much more expensive clamps I own just how well these work. Simple to set and use, the large handle make it quick and easy to clamp down your project. I recommend this product as a great addition to your hobby or wood working tool set.

Decent
These are decent light duty clamps. I first tried these out while using my router on a test board to see if they would hold it, and I was not super shocked when they didn't hold. They seems to have slightly buckled and let the piece loose. However, I also tried them while simply sanding a board with my random orbital sander and they held perfectly. They are very easy to set up and operate.I would say for the price, I would not get them due to the lack of actual holding power. Knock the price down though, and they'd be good for using while sanding.

Very sturdy, great design
These clamps feel very sturdy and have a great low profile design. The warranty seems like an added bonus although based on how they feel I doubt I'll ever need it.

Good idea that sorta works
The media could not be loaded. First impression out of the box was quite positive; cool looking, lever-action bench top clamps and dogs. You get two clamps and two dogs for clamping material to your benchtop without the use of your bench vise. Each clamp and dog is a pair, each having a knob that is inserted into the dog hole from underneath the bench. Then the knob is screwed into the post of the clamp or dog (more on that later). This allows you place the material on your workbench where ever you have 3/4" holes in the right orientation, i.e. spaced to take advantage of the limited adjustability (see below text). They are made of a hard plastic that I doubt will become a strength issue. The clamping faces are a rubber non-marring material. The 7 1/2" x 1/2" x 3/16" bar is metal and allows for 4 1/2" of adjustment. The ability to reach material to be clamped will be dependent on the hole configuration of your bench top. Given the distance between your bench dog holes and If your material cannot reach inside the 4 1/2", you won't be able to apply holding pressure. The pressure is generated with a cam action that forces the head forward by about 3/32". What sort of longevity the cam will have in generating the necessary leverage is to be determined. I can't see what the interior of the clamp head contains for hardware without destroying it.The clamp body and dog post are 3/4" long by 3/4" in diameter with no trouble inserting them into standard 3/4" dog holes. They are secured with a knob from underneath the bench top. This creates a couple areas of concern. First the thickness of the bench top is limited to the knob screw's minimum run into the clamp post. With just a few turns into the post, the distance between the contact surfaces of the knob and the clamp was 1 1/4". If your bench top is thicker than that, you won't be able to secure the clamp with the knob. And, as you'll see in the video, the clamp and dog need to be secure with the knobs. Which is the other concern: this need to secure the clamp from underneath. Most bench clamping solutions I've seen merely drop the head into the dog hole and the clamping pressure secures it. Having to reach under to move either clamp head or dog to another dog hole seems a superfluous need. The clamping heads are both 1/2" thick and will rest flat on the bench top, so any material less than that in thickness will prevent you from running your tool beyond the clamp head. That is a minor hindrance and not unique to this securing solution. The product does have a lifetime warranty. I took a picture of the notice card which indicates they replace rather than repair. You have 14 days to register once you receive the product to get an extended warranty, which is somewhat confusing. How can you extend beyond a lifetime warranty? I was a little leary of the website to which I was routed. You make up your own mind if you want to pursue the warranty. The best part is the the sliding clamp head and the cam-action to apply pressure; both good ideas and are real time savers compared to other screw-type bench clamps. This clamp is effective, however, as is evident in the video, that efficiency is mitigated when needing to change the configuration. It is a real nuisance if you are dealing with a series of varying length stock. For the one occasion, I'd admit it is tolerable. I do find them a little pricey so, that and the other general impressions, compel me to not give it a 5 star.

lightweight, weak and unreliable
My workbench has two rows of 3/4" diameter dog holes, so I ordered this pack of bench dog clamps from Houselife because they looked like a convenient option for securing workpieces. The kit comes with two sets of clamps and four threaded knobs to secure each part of the clamps from underneath the workbench. I'm not sure when you would ever use the knobs. They fit the dog holes perfectly but unfortunately do not hold boards securely. The idea is sound, but the clamps just don't have enough holding strength. One common task of mine is putting 3/4" thick boards on edge and planing to prep for glue ups. Even when taking light passes, the boards come loose. I try to squeeze the parts of the clamps into the sides of the board as hard as I can prior to clamping them, but they fail every time.If you are simply lightly sanding the faces of boards, these would probably work. However, given the price and lack of versatility, I cannot recommend these.
