Beautiful Patterns
The media could not be loaded. I have not had the opportunity to try any of these patterns yet, but I wanted to share what is in this book as the ad on here is a bit sparce. There is a beautiful selection of patterns inside that lean towards folk art style, including Chatty Girls, which is of young girls holding hands, and Chickens and Eggs, which is what the name implies. The pictures of the patterns and examples of them are in big bold photos, and the cover of the book itself allows you to use it as a bookmark. There is then a section that outlines the tools needed, basic stitches and embroidery fundamentals, how to transfer patterns, how to handle thread, knots, starting your embroidery, and finishing your embroidery, among other tips and tricks, followed by the embroidery patterns and Zakka project instructions. At the very end of the book, as shown in my video, is the Yumika Higuchi Seamless Embroidery Full-Size Pattern Insert. All in all, this is a beautiful book. It does not seem quite a beginner book, but if you have some basic stitches down, and start with the more basic patterns in this book, it should work well for you. I'm just starting myself but I look forward to trying these patterns.

The best there is!
Higuchi is by far the most talented embroidery artist out there. Her beautiful, clean lines and stitches are what all stitchers aspire to be like. I loved all the patterns in the book but especially The Trees! What is unique about these projects ( and is true in all her books) is that she not only explains the stitches, and gives a template, but she explains and gives directions to the finished objects as well.As always 5 stunning stars!Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

a wonderful example of needle arts
So many of us learned embroidery as youth. It was taught in schools, by church summer camps and many other organizations. It's an easy to master art that produces some impressive linens and home decor with a personalized touch. As the needle arts become more and more popular, embroidery has become a renewed and revived medium for garments for all ages. This book contains patterns and stitch tutorials that will impress even those who consider themselves experts. It has beautiful examples of exactly how to bring that WOW into your life too.

Excellent Resource
This work is a collection of 21 embroidery patterns and 21 projects that are unique and, once completed, will leave you with a lovely new item for yourself or for gifting.I liked that many of the patterns have an older feel, almost more like folk art. There were also many creative ones that included carousel horses, trapeze artists, a city scape, and many lovely floral patterns. Not only are the transfer patterns included to make for easy stitching, but there is also a whole section showing the patterns embroidered on home goods ranging from clocks to chairs to bags. Instructions for making these items was included as well, which I loved as it meant all you need is this book to go from raw materials to an embroidered, working clock.Helpful instructions including getting started with embroidering, materials required, and tips for embroidering were included. This was not only helpful but made even the more intricate patterns feel less daunting. That being said, some of the patterns are certainly not beginner-friendly, and as they’re not rated for difficulty, it might take some time to find the right project to start with.If you’re interested in embroidery and looking for ways to use your embroidery as more than just pillowcases or napkins, then this book is a must read. Many thanks to NetGalley and Shambhala Publications for allowing me to read this work, which will be published May 28, 2024. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Patterns to Satisfy Every Crafter
Another gorgeous embroidery book from Yumiko Higuchi that makes me want to break out my embroidery needles and thread. Yumiko’s stitching is unbelievably perfect, but they make you believe you can embroider that way too, The projects are presented in the front of the book and then the stitch directions and project instructions are in the back, All in all a lovely book with plenty of different repeat patterns to satisfy every crafter.
