Astounding Quartz Field Watch for the Price!
I've had my eye on the Militado ML05 for a while, and finally decided to buy one. I chose the black dial no-logo Miyota 2035 version (ML05B is the model) instead of the VH31 because it's slightly cheaper, uses a battery that I already keep on hand, and should provide better battery life, 3 - 4 years between battery replacements instead of the 1 - 2 years with the VH31. I own another 2035 watch, and found that the 2035 provides acccurate timekeeping, and the batteries are easy to change. This 2035 Militado is also about 1 mm thinner (9.5 mm) than the VH31 version, according to the specifications on Militado's web page. Otherwise, the watch is identical to the VH31 version. The quality seems outstanding. The watch came carefully packaged (bubble wrap over cardboard over a foam-filled metal tin) and arrived without damage. Beautiful shallow-domed sapphire crystal, bead-blasted 316L stainless finish, drilled lugs, screw-down crown, 100M of water resistance, and that beautiful easy-to-read dial that reminds me of the Hamilton Field Khaki. I'm not a fan of NATO straps, so I replaced it with a 2-piece strap with a buckle, purely personal preference. This is a lot of watch for not a lot of money. Update: After 4 weeks, the watch has gained less than 4 seconds, according to the NIST timeserver.

Perfect watch if you're a doctor in an ED or on wards.
I really like this watch. It's not heavy, it's quiet and the time keeps very well. It fits well and doesn't slide around or irritate my skin. I work in a hospital and need something that can take a beating (I've dropped it several times, it's been covered in miscellaneous bodily fluids and plaster, etc.) and I can clean it up and it keeps working. Need to count respirations or heart rate? Or more serious activities? Perfect for that too. Looks professional and is durable. And not so expensive that I worry about it getting broken or gunky. Will get another at some point I imagine.

Best Bang-For-Your-Buck Field Watch
Perhaps the best value on a quartz driven field watch. Vh31 sweep movement is very accurate and reliable. Sapphire crystal resists scratches. Screw down crown (easily manipulated btw) and back plate provide water resistance to a rated one hundred meters (that's over three hundred feet folks which is twice the limit for sports diving). C3 super lume lasts all night. Looks good on a variety of straps. 20mm lugs are drilled for easy access. 38mm case diameter fits well on a wide range of wrist sizes and is tastefully brushed and finished. Ability to "hack". Easy to look at and attractive appearance. Light weight and thin makes me forget i have it on. I am very stoked with this great inexpensive and reliable watch. Looks much better close up in person than in pictures. The only con I can think of is battery must be changed after two years. If it were solar powered it would be perfect. This is my honest experience and I have not been paid or compensated in any way. But don't just take my word. Check out the almost countless videos on YouTube singing it's praises under "Militado MLO5"

Very Pleased at the Price Point
I got this as a temporary fill-in while my main auto was out for a tune up. I like it a lot. Light weight, quartz accuracy, sapphire crystal and a barely adequate NATO style band. Great value for the cost.

Accurate so far - has a certain charm
Love the second hand - simple- no brand name on the face has a charm in itself - I like how the end of the strap wraps up and is visible - with the several loops - a little bigger wrist and you might not get this effect- see a 2nd photo - metal finish is nice - nice watch but pretty low key in the color I chose, which I’m happy with - I think I made the right choice after my Skagen minimalist watches which look great seem to die after a little over a year, and when I replace the battery professionally, they last another month then crap out Also I haven’t accidentally pulled the button and stopped it which seemed to happen from time to time with the skagens Been wearing silicone bands which are easy to wash - spilled on this and washed it right away no stain, however, if it gets wet, the water will penetrate the band. I don’t take this in the shower for that reason, plus I throw a Casio on at the gym where I shower 90% of the time Looks like it has a low intensity glow in the dark feature, but I wouldn’t bank on it 6 week update - a solid 2 minutes off. I like it, but it’s no Casio. Overall this is basically acceptable accuracy for me, but it’s def not perfection.

Great watch for the price.
I have way too many watches. Some cheap, some expensive, some luxury. I just like watches because they are often some blend of wearable, functional art and tool. And, that blend can come from any price range as long as you have appropriate expectations for the price point. I read a tiny blurb about militado watches on social, so being the nerd I am I went and checked them out. Basically they have a lot of vintage militay-esque watches that borrow heavily from vintage world war watches. This is an aesthetic I love - because I do really like a legible watch. I have wanted a black cased watch for a while, so when I saw this PVD coated stainless version I figured it's ~$50 bucks, what the heck. The watch comes in a tin. Inside the tin is a simple undated warranty card (2 year warranty) and the watch carefully ensconced in foam. Nothing special per se, but it's also not terrible. It fits. The watch itself... It is a 38MM width watch with 20mm lugs. The lug to lug is 48mm I think which means the lugs are long and it wears a bit bigger than the 38mm might suggest. That of course is offset by the relative thinness of the case at 10.5mm. The crystal is stated as domed sapphire. I have doubts about this at this price point, but since I have only had it a few days I have no real reason to doubt this other than the nagging feeling of how did they get sapphire in at this price. the AR coating is pretty good though so the watch, with it's' super simple hands, 12/24 hour numbers, white minute hashes, and lumen yellow triangles is very readable. Just what you would expect from a military style watch. The PVD coating appears to be well applied into a matte black finish. It looks pretty good. Those long lugs do have curve to them so teh fit is better than I may have let on earlier. The crown screws out and the movement is hackable. the machining on the crown seems good. The back is stainless with no markings other than the militado name. The only nits I have on the watch case are 1. it does pick up greasy finger prints and 2. the inside edges of the lugs are shave your face sharp. well. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but they are rougher than I would want and in a more expensive watch I would expect them to be rounded as the outer edges are. The dial is both busy and easy to read. I dig the vintage vibes and appreciate how well done it looks even if it is simple paint on a dial. The Lume is the hands and in the yellow triangle hour markers. How long it lasts is a bit up in the air for me, but I think you should be able to read it at night or early morning well enough to read the time. But it is not a lume monster. Better than some, a lot worse than others. The movement.... The quartz movement in the watch is a Seiko Vh31. This movement beats 4 times a second which means that rather than the second hand jumping from each minute market to the next, it moves four times in a second. The hand doesn't really look like its sweeping like Citizens much more expensive high beat quartz does, or automatic watches do, but it does look better than a standard quartz. after two days it appears to be exactly on the atomic clock I set it to. So it's accurate - but you would expect a quartz watch to be. The strap it came with was... OK. It is a nato style strap made out of nylon and like all natos, I don't like how the strap wraps back on itself. I swapped it for a vintage look black leather strap I had and find I like this set up much more than the nato. Only downside is the strap doesn't have a pvd buckle, but I will look to rectify that at some point. Maybe. Why did I get this watch? Aside from being a nerd who wanted to see if the brand lived up to some of the online hype I read,, I did want to add a beater watch to my collection that was an easy grab and go selection, that would be semi durable and that would scratch my black case itch. Again, just a couple of days in and this seems to fit the bill. I am pretty happy with it. But I would caveat it with, while a very solid watch I am not sure it punches wildly above its class. I think it is a great watch at the ~$50 I paid, and wouldn't feel bad about paying say $60 or so for it, but some of the hype machine I saw suggested this was as good a watch as some ~300-500 watches and it is not. They have some other iterations of watches that I willl definitely consider, but will do so knowing exactly what I am getting.
