Maroon 5 + Snake Puzzle = Pure Joy
Let me share a story about my son, his ShengShou Magic Snake puzzle, and Maroon 5.He has autism and for the longest, he was completely non-verbal. He's slowly learning to speak.Well, one night, he comes to me while I was reading with our oldest son. He said, "Zic! Zic!" I was like, "I'm sorry but I don't know what you're saying." He groaned and went out of the room. When he came back, he was holding his snake puzzle. He pointed at it and was all, "Zic! Zic!" I then said, "No, that's a V." Then it hit me all at once--no, that isn't a V; that's a Roman numeral 5 and THAT is the symbol on the Maroon 5 album cover and he really wants to hear some music. I said, "Do you want to hear 'Yes, Please?'" Let me tell you, the smile that spread across his face when I figured out what he was telling me was priceless. He was so excited to have been able to communicate something to me.This album and that snake have made a world of difference to our family because they helped our boy express his desires.

the best Maroon 5 album of their career
This is, in my opinion, the best Maroon 5 album of their career! That's saying a lot, as every album has been solid. There is something to be said for taking a year or two between albums. If you notice, those always seem to be the biggest hits. I believe Maroon 5 has another hit on their hands with V. Their first single, "Maps", tells a gripping story that's helped by a fantastic video. "Animals" is probably my favorite track. Then again, there's the track "In Your Pocket", which is so catchy. "My Heart Is Open" is a solid duet with fellow Voice coach Gwen Stefani. "Shoot Love" is another good one. I was surprised that the band covered the 1997 Marcy Playground Alternative hit "Sex And Candy". The final song, "Lost Stars" is the first time Adam Levine has gone solo on a Maroon 5 album. Very solid effort by Levine. Rock star release by Maroon 5!

Buy 'Begin Again' Movie / Begin Again Sound track / And Maroon 5 'V' Hope you enjoy as I am.
I never herd of Adam Levine until I saw the movie "Begin Again". Keri Knightley and Adam Levine have been VERY additive. I "had" to have the songs in ORDER played in the movie to be happy. Maroon 5 V is missing 2 songs from the movie sound track Begin Again. ...So I bought the movie sound track and Maroon 5 V.. Remove the 4 terrible songs (not Keri Knightley) off of Begin Again and just the one song "New Love" off of Maroon 5 V and you can fit the 20 songs on 1 CD. (some brands "CD' won't fit it) I truly prefer Adam Levine's singing style in the movie. The 3 songs will get you. All of Keri's 'got' me. The Maroon 5 'V' is outstanding !!! The Bass will jump start your heart ..... Geeez

Great Music on the Best Platform
This is a great album with a classic Maroon 5 sound. I must say this it is really nice that Maroon 5 finally released an album on vinyl. I've been waiting for this for a long time. I stopped buying CDs because of their poor quality and if you listen closely to Maroon 5's last couple of CDs you'll hear nothing but static on the top end of the audio where you should be hearing cymbals and guitar strings and such. CDs these days are so poorly engineered that they've done the format a huge disservice. None of those problems exist with vinyl and with Maroon 5's latest, the music is crisp, clean and detail. Thanks Maroon 5 and I hope you release all of your back catalog on vinyl!

What exactly will you get?
After hearing "Animals" (2nd track, 2nd official single), and already hearing "Maps" and "It Was Always You" (1st track, 1st official single, and 3rd track, promo single released between the two official singles, respectfully), I pre-ordered this album on August 27, expecting to receive it September 2 around 8:00 p.m. I thank Amazon for surprising me by delivering it a day early, I found "V" on my doorstep around 1:00 p.m. on September 1. Now having said that, anyone reading this has most likely already made up their mind about this album and is reading this out of pure curiosity, and that's fine. For those still contemplating their decision on purchasing "V", I'd like to help. So instead of comparing this album to those that have come before from Maroon 5 (of which I own all), because you can already find those types of reviews all over the internet and Amazon, I'll answer a question you may or may not have asked yourself while tying to decide whether or not this album is worth your money: "What exactly am I getting out of this CD?".I'll start by saying that this album is not worth your money. For $5.00 more than the standard version, I find only 3 additional tracks to be horribly underwhelming. As for what exactly you will get from this album, I'll tell you. You'll receive an appealing but flashy cover that's crisply designed onto a cardboard sleeve (sadly; jewel cases are much more sturdy and provide better protection for the disc). You'll be paying for an accompanying booklet that only contains pictures, however nice, and credits (I much prefer lyrics to be included, but oh well). That being said, your money is also going towards a lot of great music. There is only one song that I don't enjoy, which is "Feelings" (track 10). That may be just my taste, but I don't really like the dance-y beat, but I could live with it if it weren't for lyrics such as "so high we f*** the sky," and not because of the content (I purchased the explicit version intentionally), but because it's only delivered half-heartedly, almost reluctantly, by an otherwise outstanding vocalist Adam Levine. If you haven't yet listened to the previously listed singles, do, and they'll give you a pretty good idea of what this album sounds like, albeit not a complete representation. So for the reason being that by now you've heard the singles, or if you haven't you're about to, I'll skip the summaries of the first 3 tracks and let you come to your own opinions of them. Instead, I'll give a general idea of the sound and quality of each song starting with track 4.1. "Maps"-Single2. "Animals"-Single3. "It Was Always You"-Promo Single4. "Unkiss Me"-With a fresh, hypnotizing beat, neatly delivered and relatable lyrics, and nice flow in all the right places, this powerful ballad begs to be released as "V"'s 3rd official single, and wo definitely do well if it happens.5. "Sugar"-Another potential single that contrasts perfectly with the previous track, its silky sweet beat and sugary lyrics with Adam Levine's delivery combine to make this the 5th standout track in a row of "V"'s so far 5 song total.6. "Leaving California"-Yet another standout/potential single and ballad, "Leaving California's" ascending beat and beautiful hook practically complete the album; if it stopped right here, "V" would be a perfect EP.7. "In Your Pocket"- This track is the turning point. With an appealing dance-ish beat and cocky, relatable lyrics and a playful "Show me yours, I'll show you mine" this track is good. It just lacks the one aspect that would make it great like the 6 before it.8. "New Love"-Much like the previous track, this song has all the right components: beat, verses, sound; however, they're mixed in with a mismatched hook that detracts from the feeling the rest of the song works so hard (and succeeds in these parts) to invoke to the listener. In this way, the 8th track on "V" is almost a standout, just not quite.9. "Coming Back For You"-At this point, the album regains its footing. Track 9 is "V"'s 7th standout track. With a perfect hook matched surprisingly well to its accompanying beat, and lyrics that stay stuck in your head but don't annoy as they reside, "Coming Back For You" is the redeeming point of this album.10. "Feelings"-And just like that, "V" reaches its lowest point. It's not that this song is too electronic or sexual; it's that none of it fits correctly. Track 10's hook is not worthy of comparison to those of any of the other songs here; the same goes for its beat and lyrics like "Come with me, go f*** that guy". The worst part is it's placement: after the redeeming track, and before the final cut, both of which seem to be completely different genres on a higher level compared to this song.11. "My Heart Is Open" ft. Gwen Stefani-This album's "finale" (not including the bonus tracks) is similar to that of 2010's "Hands All Over". A piano-driven slow listen, it would have been a better song had an artist better matched to Levine's sound been found, or if Adam had performed it as a lone vocalist (there doesn't always have to be a collaboration). This track is good, but Gwen Stefani keeps it from being great. Now to the bonus tracks, all of which, though few in quantity, are outstanding in quality. "Shoot Love" and "Lost Stars", both standout tracks worthy of single status, are separated by Maroon 5's cover of "Sex and Candy", which is deliciously sticky in its beat and lyrics, evoking strong desires for the title's contents, and thus making every bonus track included in the deluxe edition of "V" worthy of the standard edition's track listing.I know this review is long, and I truly apologize for that, but it is with every intention of helping a future potential purchaser make their decision. So with that said, while this album may not physically be worth its price, its contents more than make up for it. And with that I end this. Best wishes with your decision :)

Maroon 5's "V" CD is a testament to their mastery of catchy hooks and infectious melodies. From the upbeat rhythms of hits like "Sugar" to the soulful balladry of tracks like "Maps," this album offers something for every mood.
