Bohin Chalk Pencil with Holder White, 1 Count (Pack of 1)

I use this to mark fabric when I have a design to hand sew. It’s dry chalk (not waxy like most tailors) as such it brushes off readily, but that means you either have to re apply repeatedly or only mark a small section at a time.

I wish I could give this 5 stars but, I brought this one from Amazon as a replacement for one that I had from a high street shop a few years ago. I was really disappointed to find that all the chalks were broken when it arrived, they are less than 1/4" thick which is why it is so good for detail work. It wasn't packed in any kind of protective package like a bubble wrap envelope, just a regular card one. It still works and it still great for accurate lining on fine fabrics and Matt craft projects but sharpening the broken pieces wastes so much of the chalk. Should have been protected better and marked fragile at least.

It's finer than using regular chalk but at the same time too much pressure and the chalk will snap, but using your hand correctly it becomes easier.

I consider this an expensive item but thought I would give it a go. What a waste of money and time. After one use it fell apart. After 30 minutes I managed to reassemble it , but on wanting to change the chalk the same happened again. Also all of the refill chalks arrived broken.

I heard of this product via a session on quilting using stencils and decided to buy one for my sewing kit. It's great, you can easily draw your design on your quilt without it draggging on the fabric and it just washes or brushes away afterwards. It came with a good supply of chalks 'sticks' and a sharpener.

For years I have been buying markers for fabric of all makes and sorts and they have been mostly disappointing, the leads break so easily, they are so fine, it is hard to see the lines. That is not the case with this marker, I'm very pleased I bought it, and would have no doubt in buying it yet again.

Like how easy pen is to use and good amount of replacement nibs. Use for dressmaking..ideal, thank you
