A solid metal machined extension treated with black oxide. This allowed me to buff quartzite with a buffer shroud at the correct height. No splatter. I’m pleased.

More expensive than some others out there, but... perfectly balanced, strong/sturdy/thick (despite being made of aluminum), and works perfectly well. I was surprised by how smoothly it ran with a wire brush. Would but again...

A good purchase, it does its job. The only thing is that it's a few millimeters longer, so you have to be careful when polishing the surface because if you press it down a little, the extension could scratch it.
