Q: What are the dimensions of the feeder (not including the hanger)? Amazon only shows the "package dimensions" which is not useful.

Hi - the Package Dimensions are pretty much the same as the unit itself - about 17.9” high and not quite 5” in diameter - not including the hanger or the perches. It is very good sized and keeps the bird seed dry and not clumped. I use the “no waste” bird seed and have it hanging in a covered spot that makes the squirrels crazy. Occasionally a squirrel will fling himself onto the feeder but it is so sturdy it is not harmed nor has it fallen off the hook. Very high quality feeder.

Q: Will this feeder work well with just white proso millet?

My birds love this feeder. It seems to be their favorite. It does need a pole to hang but in my opinion well worth it.

Q: Will this feeder work for “wild bird food” or only seeds?

Hi, this Brome Meg 600 bird feeder will hold black oil sunflower seeds, mixed seeds and safflower seeds for the best traffic of birds.

Q: Will cardinals feed from it? The ports seem very recessed.

This feeder is popular with lots of small birds (Titmice, Finches, Chickadees etc.), but Cardinals don't seem to be one of them. It seem they're having a problem with landing/sitting on the bars. At the least it seems to take longer for them to learn how to land and hold on to.
