UTG Deluxe Vertical Shoulder Holster

I purchased this shoulder holster for my weekly trail rides in the mountains. First, this rig is well constructed and is indeed very adjustable. The velcro straps that secure the system to your waist work better than snaps. It is clearly designed for a fairly large semi-auto. I carry a long slide Glock and it has room to spare. A rather simple, yet ingenious, internal adjustment gives the gun a good fit and additional exterior holster adjustments help keep the gun firmly in place.When you first use this shoulder rig you "feel" the weight. However, after only the second time out I was surprised at out comfortable and non-obtrusive it was. I have owned other systems (Uncle Mike's). Nothing against those products...this is simply a better buy for the money and the double shoulder straps definitely make a difference. If velcro bothers you and you want high concealment with the ability to "quick draw", this is not the rig for you. If you want a comfortable rig for the outdoors so your have your side arm when you need it...this is the one for you.

So ultimately I wanted to carry at home with comfort. I rarely ever wear jeans when I'm at home relaxing so I wanted to be able to have a holster that didnt require a belt. This vertical holster was going to be the best bet for what I wanted. However, it didnt really deliver. Sure I can carry it at home but the dang thing is incredibly uncomfortable over time. The entire rig is made up of adjustable straps and buckles and velcro which is great for custom fitting I'll tell you what, but it does make it look really really ugly and sloppy. It took me literally a week to fully adjust everything to my liking. It takes a lot of trial and error and I found that right when i thought it was perfect, it just wasnt comfortable a couple minutes later. So expect to be tugging and adjusting this thing until you find the right fit. The way the straps work is that it loops around your belt. I did not know that. So what I ended up doing is just fastening some light duty suspender clips to the loops so they can clamp onto anything (my case my gym shorts which works out perfectly). The holster itself is half decent. It took me just as long to find the sweet spot for my Smith and Wesson SD40VE. Sure it fits like a glove now but it took a very long time and again, a lot of trial and error to snug it around my firearm. Would I buy this rig again for my purpose? No. If You're looking to edc at the home with this because you might think it's comfortable, look elsewhere or save up some money for a Remora holster. Oh and another thing, my firearm fully loaded gets pretty darn heavy after wearing it a couple of hours and the rig isn't designed (or im sure it isn't designed) for heavy firearms because the dang rig tends to slouch on that side where you're carrying and after a day or two, you get a kink in your neck. At least that's my experience with this rig. I'm sure this rig would be perfect for people who shoot airsoft but it ain't practical for real firearms.

As others have mentioned this has a few short comings, but for the price its still a good deal if it will suit your needs.Pros: very wide range of adjustment, I had no problems getting this to adjust to my 6'7" 285lbs framePrice far below any comparable shoulder holstersReasonably comfortable for the few hours i had it on while testing and fitting it.weapon holster has plenty of room for those with Tac lights or laser sights mounted below the barrel.weapon holster has plenty of adjustments on it, that some folks may not notice.cons: weapon holster itself is quite large, I think even a 1911 or other large framed gun would have plenty of room to spare in it.This is not a "quick draw" holster, even cutting off the redundant velcro strap above the snap strap it still requires some effort to draw your weapon.Couple spots where velcro might rub or poke you through clothing.Not the best candidate for those looking for concealed carry, while printing and buldges are barely noticable for me wearing a hoodie or light northface jacket, im sure average to small sized frame people will leave tell tale signs they are carrying.For the price its hard to beat... Definitely geared use that doesnt require quick draw, concealed carry or small framed guns. Im sure this will work well for average joe while hunting or hiking and probably for airsoft guns too.I would also recommend cutting off the redundant velcro strap above the snap strap on weapon holster, and repositioning ALL velcro straps inside and out to fit your weapon.repositioning velcro straps is done easiest with a butter knife slid between so you can move and change angles to suit your weapon.

I ordered a different one, did not fit me.I ordered this one and it fits great. I had to modify it a little bit, fairly muscular individual.It does take a little time and effort to fit it correctly and for the holsters to sit correctly but it is fully adjustable to get it just right. This holster is great for the price and highly universal.I highly recommend this product if you want a decent shoulder holster for occasional use.I had to cut out with scissors for my reflex sight and it fits perfectly. Large mags fit well.TIP*** There are velcro straps on the bottom of each holster, make sure to strap them around your BELT to snug the holster against your body so the holsters wont stick out the back or tip.After i modified it and strapped it down to my belt, it fits great
