Now my favorite knife!
Quality stainless steel, precision grind, great profile, and not made in China! Scaled with stabilized oak burl from a tree on one of our farms. Took an excellent edge. I will be purchasing more from BPSKnives!

Just buy it you won’t regret it
Awesome knife good weight to it if you want a fun project knife don’t hesitate, I got it today and have the handle scales done stained and soaking in boiled Lin seed oil right now also doing a forced patina with coke and vinegar to keep it from rusting so it should have a lot better rust resistance when it’s done. Fit and finish is great for a blank all in all with the over 5 inch blade this knife will be an awesome bush craft blade, durability wise you should have no issues you will be able to pass this project down to your kids some day.

Very nice blade for the price
It's really a very pretty blade and can easily be built into a nice knife. It comes with a polished surface that is attractive. I put a very pale, nearly white bamboo handle on mine and I think the resulting knife has a tough but elegant look. I can't see any obvious grinding defects. All of the geometry looks symmetrical. It's a problem with many inexpensive knife blanks that they look like they were ground freehand or with worn out fixturing, so that the blade is shaped differently on each side. This blade looks even, symmetrical, consistent. I can't speak to the quality of the steel except to say that it seems to be very hard and that it is able to be sharpened to a very good edge. I accidentally sliced through a thick, veg-tan sheath that I made for the knife. That was mostly because of a problem with how I made the sheath (too tight for the knife) but it needed very little force to slide the blade right through the leather - I didn't even know that I had done it until I looked at the back of the sheath. Does that prove that the steel is good? Probably not, but it seems like it's good enough for practical use. Nice knife blank. I may buy another to put a handle on and give to a friend. I like the one I have so much that I don't want to give it away.

Good value
Great deal from the Ukraine. Should finish out to be a great knife for general use. A little soft, easier to sharpen, a little harder to break than a harder more brittle knife. Add some scales and you are ready to go.

Another winner from BPS
I previously got the 5 inch partial tang blade blank (#06, the only other one available on Amazon) and it was great, so decided to try this one. It's also fantastic, and probably the best choice available for a full tang bush craft-style knife. Pretty mirror polish on the blade, sharp as can be right out of the box. I'll probably do this one with some home-made micarta handles and hope to post an update with pics soon. Update: made up some thick home-made burlap and canvas micarta with a white Excelon spacer; this is dense stuff and makes for a somewhat heavier and chunkier knife, but it feels great in my hands, and at 5.8 ounces, it's still lighter than a Mora Garberg.

Excellent knife blank
Clearly the reviewers that received a blank with no polish, poor temper, etc. somehow got a blank that was not intended to be sent out that way because the blank I received was EXACTLY as depicted. Beautifully polished and protected with a coat of oil, sharp as a razor, straight and flat...ready for a vinegar patina and a pair of purpleheart scales! Even the area around the lanyard hole is polished in case you want to do a cut-in like the ones sold as finished models. The handle shape is very ergonomic, ample in size, and well thought out. A knife to be used, not just one to be admired. I'm truly looking forward to finishing this beauty and using it frequently. Glory to Ukraine! Edit 9/3/22 Finished this blade soon after submitting original review. Without being overly verbose: I have used it HARD for the past few months and love it. For general bush craft work I've never used a better blade (and I have used lots!). If Mora and ESEE got together and had a love child, this would be it.

Nice Blank, But Not As Good As the First Time!
The first time that I ordered this item, it arrived razor sharp, and it was completely covered with a coat of oil. After making the handle, the knife turned out so sweet that I decided to buy another one for a friend. But, amazingly, the second knife blank was packaged in only a cardboard sleeve (which did not cover the entire length of the knife blank) and some plastic wrap, and it was sent in an envelope with the point of the blade protruding through the envelope. The knife blank also had a slight bow to it, and it had some rust in areas that were not oiled. I returned it for a replacement. Updated 6/7: The replacement knife blank arrived, and it was perfect...well packaged, covered with a coat of oil, and having no rust. And the blade was perfectly flat. Very pleased with the blank! For future purchases... hope that the company will make improvements in packaging the knife, and ship the knife blank with a coat of oil to avoid rust. Thanks!

Great blade source!
Just finished this knife with Patagonia Rosewood handles. BPS knives/blades are awesome. Great quality at a great price! This is the fifth knife blank I’ve ordered from them. Knives arrive in pristine condition and sharp right out of the box! Vladyslav and the team at BPS knives do an excellent job!

Buon lavoro a tutti
