FORMSmart Swim 2 Goggles

Won't swim without them.
I'm a lazy swimmer. Constantly needing motivation to swim. These goggles do that. No longer need to do that awkward look at the wrist to check times and distance.A lot of reviews talk about the fit and how tight you need them. For me they've never leaked once. The level of suction around the eyes is strong. It does leave marks but again there's no leak for me. If you're pushing off from the wall correctly then your arms will reduce the amount of drag and force on the goggles. They're not the comfiest of goggle I've ever had but it's a small price to pay for the level of detail you get about your swim. Follow the guides and your stroke will improve. The level of detail on the app is excellent. It's very accurate and the heart rate matches both my Garmin watch and Huawei GT5. The goggles quality is excellent as you'd expect for the price my only criticism is the reduced field of vision. In a busy lane swim you're going to need to stay alert. You see other swimmers at the last moment and the wall creeps up on you.If you're a serious swimmer who wants to improve your stroke and head position these will do just that. If like me you're awful at counting lengths then these will keep you right. If you need to stay motivated with lap length and set timings then these are for you. Spend time getting the fit right, follow the guides and you've got an amazing bit of kit.

Great goggles
I have only used them once for open swimming once and they are very good. They fit very well and don’t leak. The swimming metrics are really useful and saved stopping to guess how long and how far I had swam. The only problem I had was setting up the compass and the instructions aren’t that clear. However after watching a video how to calibrate them it was much clearer!

Not worth it for the price and read why
Read carefully all the disclosures before purchasing these goggles. The idea is great, the execution not so much and here is why.1) It's more tailored to triathlon athletes than swimmers in the sense that it's contains metrics for free style (reads your head position, counts stroke per minutes etc.) but not for the other 3 strokes although you can still swim and get reading of pace and heart beat. But the worst is yet to come...2) You basically buy very expensive goggles, way more expensive than good competitive goggles, and you think you are done paying but you are not. They give you a year trial for Premium and after that you can basically toss those goggles because they will stop working. The main core features, which is in 90% of the cases, is why you spend this much money on the goggles, stop working UNLESS YOU START PAYING $15 (OR £13) PER MONTH INDEFINITELY! So, let's say you spent £229 on these goggles, and you use them for 5 years (...if they last because this is already my 3rd pair in one year, one stop working and lost money and the other after many back and forth was replaced), you spent £780 ALONE IN SUBSCRIPTION MONEY. Might as well pay a personal coach for that money. Charging $15 per month for something already pre-made is simply outrageous. There are many workouts, true, but you will probably end up doing your limited set of workouts. They would get so many customers if they only charge you for the goggles which is already a lot, and not charging you for a ridiculous membership. They might say that you can keep using the goggles and SOME of the features but what that means is using the FREE SWIM options but for example you won't have access to the workouts you have saved on your goggles which in many cases is the reason why you buy these. There is an option to buy a LIMITED PREMIUM - but only from the website - for another £200 something but would you spend that money from the get go on top of £229 for just the goggles, for a product you have not used yet?3) Precision starts fading after about 7-8 months. Wall touches are not recorded properly. So, in the end I re-started using the clock on the wall to time myself.4) Synching with your phone can be painful, regardless of whether you have the latest software updates, something it will not just pair and synch. One time I made the mistake of unpair them to pair them again and I was not able to.5) If you live in humid weather, MAKE SURE YOU PROPERLY WASH the goggles after using them. I never had to do that with my SPEEDO goggles but because these are a bit bulkier they trap moisture along the eye seal which turns into mould. I had to learn the hard way after I got an eye infection.6) Similar to the above, the eye seal comes off sometimes and you might have to have to manually put it back. It's not difficult but it's a pain if that happens while swimming, it's a pain.7) Customer service is responsive but you will have to really fight to have them to send you a replacement if yours are broken.

Makes swimming fun
I had Form Goggles. These are even better, and I can now wear them during my Triathlons

Great training aid
I have had my Form (1) goggles for a while now- I love them, keeps my head position correct and in open water- swimming straight is a great bonus. I was thinking of upgrading to Form goggles 2 but I can’t justify buying another pair at the moment, especially as my pair are still performing well. I will point out that if you use a Garmin swimming watch and Garmin connect without the form goggles ( maybe you forgot to charge your goggles), the data is still uploaded to the Form app, keeping your training logs up to date.

Feels like a prototype
ProsVery nice to have some heads up display dataSlick packagingConsThey leak almost everytime you push off the wall or swim fast. Not low profile enough and water just pushes them off your face. I tried to get them to fit but it was hopeless. Seems the goggle was designed around the heads-up technology, rather than designing heads up technology around a good goggle.Subscription required to access extra app features which should probably come as standard given the costSwim straight does not work. Compass is all over the place.Open water features limited. No compatibility with Garmin Swim 2. Rather naively I never checked this before purchase. Simply assumed that a dedicated swim watch would be compatible with the goggles.
