This foam works really well for defining curls without needing a diffuser or a ton of effort. It’s lightweight, doesn’t leave hair crunchy, and helps keep curls in place while reducing frizz. For Florida humidity, it actually holds up better than I expected. A solid air‑dry product if you want something quick and easy that still gives good curl definition.

I have natural curly hair, and boy, does this make me more curly. My hair tends to get less curly on the 2nd or 3rd day after washing. I just spritz some on in the morning, and it increases the curls. Frizzing has never been a problem. Humidity just makes me have tighter curls. My hair still feels nice and soft after application. I have been using this product for about 3 years.

I have naturally waving hair and I'm simultaneously trying different heatless curl methods while trying ways to bring out my own without help of devices. I used this prior to using a heatless curl rod to help with frizz. I put it on my gently tshirt dried damp hair and scrunched. I let air dry and noticed it kept my waves much better than other things I've tried. It was a pleasant surprise. No crinkle, soft and wavy. I used a comb to smooth my hair for the curling and then wrapped it. I'll edit my review if this also helps with the frizz in the morning!

I like the product a lot. Helps with frizz but also doesn’t weigh down my hair. Only 3 stars because Amazon is unable to consistently send it WITH its cap. It’s not that the cap popped off in shipping - surprisingly, that never happens! Rather, there is no cap. This increases the chance of contamination, quality issues or missing product. This happens about half the time. In fact, this last time I bought 2, and when they arrived one had its cap and the other didn’t. It’s very annoying. A note to John Freda Company: please add a basic safety seal, like a plastic sticker that holds on the cap! (But that doesn’t excuse Amazon’s inability to keep the cap on the bottle before shipping…)

Great product great brand and really revives my curls on dry or wet hair

I LOVE this Air Dry Waves stuff!! I have always had very fine, thin hair, but I used to have a lot of it. Over the past decade, medications, health issues, and genetics have left me with hair so thin, my braid is thinner than my pinkie finger (see PIC 3). I have tried dozens or maybe even hundreds of products, trying to make my hair look thicker and have any style at all. My hair is mostly straight, but t has a tiny bit of wave to it, and it frizzes up when the dew point tops about 40 or when I sweat. A few products made my hair look okay, but I rarely feel like spending time "doing" my hair using heat tools, and I try to baby my hair as much as possible, since it breaks just running my fingers through my hair. On top of most products requiring heat styling to work, I cannot stand my hair feeling crunchy or sticky. I thought I was going to have to chop it all off, and spend the rest of my thirties and all the decades that follow, with a pitifully thin and frizzy pixie cut. This JF Air Dry Waves Styling Foam is amazing!!!! After I get out of the shower, I towel-dry my hair, pump out 1.5-2 puffs of this magical creation, and scrunch it into my hair. After that, I just leave it alone (PIC 1). I don't touch it. Once it is dry, I brush it, and POOF (PIC 2)! My hair looks voluminous but just feels conditioned and soft! And those waves STAY. I have found the waves stay at least 3 days (the longest I can go without washing my hair). Especially on Day 2 or Day 3, if it seems I need a tad more definition to my waves, I run a brush or comb under the faucet (a hand works, in a pinch) and lightly run it through my hair, scrunching again, and the waves are again defined. It would probably be best for me to use a pick, so I may get one, to avoid the big puff, but this stuff is amazing! I hope they never discontinue or change it, because it is PERFECT! I even use it before I'll be wearing my hair up, as I gives my hair more volume and fullness when I pull it into a bun or twist. I don't know how well it works on thicker hair, but if you have really fine hair (as in, each actual strand of hair is extremely narrow, like a cobweb), I think you will love this stuff.

This product works well for my hair type. I have thin, frizzy, graying, wavy hair, and this keeps the dry frizzies away. It also leaves my hair feeling soft, so I've noticed no buildup.
