The blade is sharp and buffed to an almost mirror like finish. This one came with a mosaic pin that could cost $10-20 just for that. The case that it comes with makes a great box for gifting the knife. The image is not accurate there is no darker metal in the etching as shown in all of the pictures which is a shame because it looks so good. If anyone knows how to get the dark etching please let me know2. One of the paring knives I bought had Pitts in the ferrel which I could not get out by sandingOther than that these are great knives for not a huge price, they hold and edge very well they appear to be made out of good steel (vg10) they are straight and they come out great just wish they would change the picture to what the knives actually look like.
