Economical, precise, no electronics (batteries)
The precision of the micrometer was spot on - within the .0001" increments out of the box. The caliper was very close - about .0002" off, but using the micrometer as calibrator, easily adjusted. I prefer digital calipers for quick work, but they cost much more and they generally aren't as precise - my digital calipers read to .0005", but they are only precise to .001" and can't be calibrated. These tools are highly recommended if you require professional results on a hobby budget.

Good value
I work in a physics research laboratory, that also has a professional machine shop, so I'm used to the quality of good tools. I wanted a cheap set for doing some automotive and hobby work at home. I gave it 5 stars because for the price, this set can't be beat. Real precision tools can cost hundreds of dollars. The caliper sliding action is not as smooth as a good Mitutoyo, but it's not bad. So far it has required very minor adjustment of zero, hardly even noticeable. The micrometer is fairly decent, however the zero needed to be adjusted out of the box. The ruler is a ruler I guess. It fits fine in my box. The tools rattle around a bit in the box, so gluing a piece of foam to the top isn't a bad idea. As these are cheap Chinese tools, they probably will fall apart after a year of use, but you get what you pay for.

Exceptional Product
I will agree that I am not a big user of accurate measurement equipment, but a need for a caliper and micrometer came up. I didn't need the best quality in the world and I found this set at a reasonable price - using Amazon Prime promo. I got better than I expected. Although it did not come with any instructions, the Internet cured that issue. I found all of the working parts to be smooth, except for the locking screw on the micrometer that felt a little loose, but, still works quite well. All were made of stainless steel. Numbers are clear and easy to read. Each instrument, except the ruler, is adjustable; the caliper by loosening a screw and turning the dial. The micrometer is adjusted with a supplied wrench. The ruler is a bit confusing to read, but, if accuracy is not a must, it will do in a rush with the understanding you may need a little extra help in seeing some of the finer graduations.Everything fits well in the medium grade plastic case(I do not like the latch). I would recommend this to a friend. The latch on the case and the locking screw on the micrometer were the reasons for 4 stars, other than that it would have been 5 stars.

I really love this dial caliper
I really love this dial caliper. After about a year has never gone out of cal. MUCH better than the digital ones from Lowes. As some have said the ruler doesn't fit in the case all that great, but who cares! It's sitting on my desk anyway. The mic is just a bonus as I don't have a need for it often. This thing is SOLID... no plastic whatsoever in the thing.

Great value
I was a little skeptical because of the price, but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and accuracy for the money! I wouldn’t build a spaceship to mars with them, but for home or general machinist tasks at work, it’s great!

I wanted a reasonably priced caliper primarily for measuring guitar ...
I wanted a reasonably priced caliper primarily for measuring guitar string gauges. I prefer the simplicity, lower cost and fewer things that can go wrong with a dial caliper vs. digital. Although I'm not doing anything too high tech, strings are gauged to 1/1000 of an inch, so I needed them to be fairly precise. I figured with this set, if the calipers weren't precise enough, I could use the micrometer. I've checked several guitars and I haven't even had to unwrap the micrometer yet. The calipers have performed exactly as I'd hoped. I zeroed them once and haven't had to since. The wheel action is not as smooth as the Mitutoyos that I used to use at work, but these are a fraction of the price. For what I use them, these completely fit the bill.
