What size are the bolts that are used as one of mine has broken?

Hi. Not sure the size, however as you can see , the set is decided by 2 long peaces, plus 2 small, so lets see maybe 1 meter long and slim wide,it depent to and from which country you like to send. Box is a bit heavy, is because wood are solid , mean I am sure will last for long.2 person can yeasly relaxt , material strong with chains , covered to each end of the wood

Does this take other hammocks? We have hammocks with hooks already

Yes the hammock ropes have spring open/close hooks and the frame has metal eyelets so any hammock with hooks should be fine. Frame is very robust but also very heavy so needs 2 people really to move it around a garden unless you are prepared to drag it.
