Kurt Adler UL0214/C 10-Light Capiz Star of Bethlehem Clear Treetop

This is a very nice star, and worth the money. Truly added beauty to the tree. Not cheap, by any means, but it's of good quality and will likely last for quite a while if it is handled and stored correctly. It's subtly bright, but not a beacon; the individual bulbs cannot be seen through the capiz shell outer layer. The photo here at Amazon accurately portrays it. While I would not describe this star as "fragile," it certainly could break if it dropped from the top of the tree. It's sturdy, and heavier than you might think, and should be attached securely to the top of the tree (I used a cable tie, which worked well and was easy to remove). You'll need an extension cord, and I would recommend that you add an (inexpensive) remote-control on/off switch (which will control all your tree lights) and spare you frequent plugging and unplugging.

I love this Christmas tree topper. It looks great on my tree. The lights are warm white, which stand out nicely from cool white lights on the tree. This star is the brightest thing on my 7’ tree.It is one sided, so this star would only work if your tree was against a wall or maybe an outside window. This star is definitely not for a tree that gets decorated on all sides, which is too bad because I would pay twice as much to have it covered on both sides.

I love the quality, the styling, the finish, and pretty much everything about this star, except one thing: Trying to figure out a way to have it stay on our tree. Last year, we somehow managed to get it to stay up there, but this year, we weren't so lucky. It's a little top-heavy, so it needs something better to keep it on the tree. Next year, I am going to get an approx. 9 inch long dowel or metal rod to go along the top of the tree near the trunk held on with zip ties, and go up into the coils so the branches don't bend over. I'm not giving up the fight, it's a lovely star that gives off a great, warm vintage vibe. If you just plan on doing something creative to hold it on, it will be worth it.

This star is beautiful. I was really bummed that I had to return it because it wouldn't fit on my treetop. I think it'd be great for treetops that are really short and sturdy. Mine is neither :/

Quite flimsy. The part that is supposed to attach to the treetop did not really work, as the spiral was quite large. I had to prop it up with some hidden binder clips 😒 It looks quite lovely but a pain to prop up and deal with especially if you have no assistant to guide you.

Our tree is nine feet tall and covered with snow...loose snow...and this is so beautiful on it. I was afraid it would look small on that height tree but it is perfect and would also be nice on a six foot tall one as well. We did wire tie a thick plastic stick (which was actually cut off a stem of artificial greenery) to the inside of the wire coil on the bottom of the star. It steadied it and kept it straight. Pulling on the coil to lengthen it helped as well.The light is soft and doesn't shine like a beacon. My husband said it looked perfect. Well, I agree.

Purchased this topper last December. Used it for one month, and carefully stored it back in its original box and placed in our Christmas storage bins. Took the topper out yesterday to place atop our tree and it won't light up. We tested and changed the bulbs, and even changed out the fuses with the extras provided in the package, but nothing. Pretty disappointing that we paid $40 for this topper to only work for a month.

You get what you pay for. Yes, as other reviewers have commented, it is not the highest quality, but for $8 it is a beautiful star and looks amazing on our tree.
