Took these with me on a backpacking trip across sequoia on the High Sierra Trail. Good assortment and always had one that matched the day, and body of water. Small ones work well casting in creeks using 4 lb test, and the larger got plenty of distance in lakes. Caught trout every day from rainbows, Brookies, goldens, kern rainbows, and browns. It was a dream fishing trip, the fishing pressure is so low when you are 40 miles from a road, these caught fish on almost every cast, not sure it it was the lures or the fish, but the did work. Just wish there was a barbless set! I had to file down the barbs to be in compliance with the barbless regulations. Took quite some time, so at least seems like the hooks are good quality.

I have been using these to catch hatchery trout stocked in a local lake. They truly are deadly for trout. I was there the first day trout were stocked and had my limit in an hour with these. I was worried that fish that had eaten pellets all their life would only take floating powerbait or something like it. Nope, these spinners must make just the right amount of noise, vibration and flash to attract them. No matter if others on the lake are coming up empty, I'm always pulling them in with the PM lures. Great product, and this set is a great price too. You won't be sorry. **Note** These, and all inline spinners can impart line twist, especially light line on spinning gear. I recommend you tie a GOOD swivel, then about a 12" leader, then tie these on to the leader for much reduced line twist.

These are Panther Martins...enough said!! These lurers are so good they can catch a cold it you try.

I like Panther Martin designs and colors because they seem to work well where I fish --- usually in small rivers/streams where access involves some hiking and bush-whacking. I fish for Brookies, but have caught Steelhead, Lakers, and pink Salmon on Panther Martin lures. Fishing in out-of the-way places, it's possible some of the strikes I get are from fish that have had little exposure to artificial baits. So I'm saying these work well out in the boonies, but I can't speculate how well they work in more heavily-fished locations. Other spinners I've used haven't worked as well for me,, and yes, that includes Mepps. I would rate these 5 stars, except for --- Two things: (1) Panther Martin lures come almost exclusively w/treble hooks. This is very bad for Brookies -- especially those you might try to release. Handling Brook Trout is a precarious business (for the fish); trying to release a Brookie that's on a treble hook requires a lot of extra "handling" which compromises the fish's chance of surviving. So, before I can use their lures I use small wire-cutters to remove two of the three hooks... I would prefer not to have to do this, but PM offers only 2-3 designs that are single-hook. My point? .. Panther Martin should offer more single-hook lures for the smaller species (like Brookies) . ...If you're a Brookie fisherman, you'll just have to settle for trimming a lot of hooks. (2) My experience w/Panther Martin has overall been good, but I have noticed occassional "bad batches" of packaged lures.... I'm speaking in terms of finishes and colors flaking off with little or no use. It happens sporadically, but it's something to be aware of if/when you buy the product. I have never received any bad batches thru Amazon. BTW,,, red-hook (vs. silver or gold) doesn't seem to make a noticeable difference in places where I fish.

These things are great for trout. Just took them out to the river yesterday. After 3 casts, I caught a decent sized trout with the larger green and pink one. Tried the black one with yellow dots for awhile, no luck. Switched back and got another decent trout within 5 minutes. I have used the yellow ones for awhile for Perch and Bass. They always work and outlast many other spinners that I have used in the past. Even after a few snags and casting into objects (after a few drinks) hooks are sharp and paint has few or no chips. The only negative thing I can say is that the way the wire is wrapped seems to be different than Panther Martins I have purchased in the past. Many of them are not coiled very tightly where it is cut off and doesn't allow the blade to spin freely and also creates a sharp edge that may cut your line. I just smashed it down with pliers before tying onto my line and they work well. I'm just a little concerned that quality may be going down and these have been my favorite lures for years.

Loved this pack of spinners perfect sizes and great colors. Caught 11 tiger trout and a small rainbow on the black and yellow one and had the young men I was with start using it and they were pulling fish out like crazy when other methods weren’t working.

Took a hike into the Eastern Sierra to catch some high altitude trout. These things performed better than thing else we had. We were casting size #2 (1/16th oz.) from the lake shore and constantly getting bites and landing a dozen or so trout between the 3 of us in a couple hours. With the later so clear, you could tell these no doubt attract fish. Even as the day got hotter, they were still getting the attention of larger trout by the shore and it seemed like every cast you would get a nibble and smaller fish following our line all the way in. Used 4lb test on a foot and a half leader with a small swivel to help with line twist.

I've recently been to North Georgia for a 4 day vacation. These little spinners were phenomenal! I have fished for trout most of my life in the mountains of Europe, and used only Mepps, our main brand there. The Panther Martin are far better: - instant spinning in the water, in or out of the current - slow reeling easily doable - they keep spinning - great selection of colors - a little light, but great for creeks and small streams Overall, a far as trout fishing in the US, these are the only ting I'm going to use as spinners. Got the bigger sizes for lake and they were impeccable, too
