Q: Could the color of the moon-lit copper be described; is it black with copper metal flakes?

Yes, that is a perfect description. It's semi gloss as well. I have used it quite a bit and it holds up to the New Mexico sun with no fading after more than a year.I have used it on wood and metal.The only negative is that it has a texture. So if you want to clean the object that you have painted, it will snag sponges and cloth. I experimented with a clear coat (several layers) over the moon-lit copper and it worked a charm.

I used on plastic sterilite dressers and on a headboard that was wood and tufted leather vinyl. Worked well!

It definitely has some texture to it
